The market has inflated true but Juve would not be buying the player United bought in 2015. As an asset Darmian's value has depreciated, he's 3 years older, just had 3 horrible years of football and is obviously not in his managers plans. So recouping our money would have been a good deal in my opinion.

And it is in my opinion a significant financial outlay if he does stay. When you factor in losing a potential £12m fee and his £3m+ wages thats £15m. Almost twice the £8m the club reportedly deemed significant enough to hold out for in negotiations with Juve.

Couldn't agree more.

We should take the 12 and be grateful someone wants to buy him

I am kind of at the stage where I think that playing an academy/ reserve player would be the best call rather than an expensive new contract renewal for him. I doubt they would fair significantly worse than him in the few games he would even play.

Ultimately Inwould prefer a quality replacement but if money is the issue Indont think many on here would complain if we promoted from within as it would only be as a backup anyway and who knows we may come good with one of our prospects.

Agree with you.

If we play a midfield 3 (or indeed a 2), we have the choice of Pogba/Matic/Herrera/Fred/Periera and McTominey without Fellaini.

That's 4 players with good experience and 2 youngsters. TFM could also fill in DM if we have an insane injury crisis.

No real need for an addition unless Periera/McTom are sold/go on loan.

A LB and RW should be the focus, followed by an experienced CB

I like the idea of Dennis Man from Steaua Bucuresti. Would be a smallish fee and definitely worth a punt.

CPFC have just signed Vicente Guaita on a free transfer:

Any caftards know a bit more about him and whether he's actually any good?! There were rumours Napoli, Fiorentina and Atletico had joined the party but seems he's ours for now.

Was overrated at Valencia a little below the competition level, but was still liked as a youngster by the fans. I havent paid attention to him since he left to be honest so maybe he's improved or got worse. But on his Valencia ability I'd give him a 6-6.5/10 which is about right for mid table.

"Stick a Roma shirt on him"
"Okay boss"
My favourite was when they tweeted Grazie Delaney, dedicated to Delaney leaving Palace, madness. Roma are the only non United club I follow on Twitter, every 2-3 days there is something atrocious to begin your day with:lol:

It's crazy how the media is completely swerving the fact that City are losing promising youngsters due to Pep spending fortunes on first-team AND backup options. I suppose it doesn't fit their narrative that Pep's this dream to work with while Jose is the big bad monster who denies youth a chance to prove themselves.

People are too obsessed with youngsters on this forum, only thing that matter in modern football are trophies and profit, Guardiola almost guarantee all that
