Who is this pleb and why does he know anything?
He is the Jon Snow of Twitter. He knows nothing.Who is this pleb and why does he know anything?
Time for the annual De Brun discussion. He's far more likely to know things than half the journos who get posted in this thread, but because he mixes in opinions with his tweets and is quite outspoken, he gets a lot of stick. Yeah he's pretty hit and miss, but I don't get the people who protest so hard against him? He obviously has links to the club.
He doesn't.Who is this pleb and why does he know anything?
De Bruin knows feck all. All he ever does is summarise that week's gossip columns. And even then, he hedges his bets because he knows he's bullshitting.
I've never read one of his posts and thought 'that was insightful into the inner-workings of our transfer policy'. I only ever think 'I could have come up with that'.
He doesn't.
It's not good enough an offer for us though.
Considering the price inflation in the market.
Juve would also do the same if the roles were reversed. It's not like we have to sell Darmian. It's not a significant financial outlay for us.
If Napoli are offering better terms, its up to Darmian to either accept that move or stay here and not play.

Well that's approximately 180k per week

This.
We might also be negotiating with Juve for Sandro. It's important we don't just buckle at the first sign of difficulty. The market has inflated true but Juve would not be buying the player United bought in 2015. As an asset Darmian's value has depreciated, he's 3 years older, just had 3 horrible years of football and is obviously not in his managers plans. So recouping our money would have been a good deal in my opinion.
And it is in my opinion a significant financial outlay if he does stay. When you factor in losing a potential £12m fee and his £3m+ wages thats £15m. Almost twice the £8m the club reportedly deemed significant enough to hold out for in negotiations with Juve.
"But he does not see central defence as a priority position to strengthen - and may wait until he has conducted the rest of his business before making a final call."
Absolute bargain. They'll sell him for more than double that in a few years.

I doubt it's about the money for United. All are largely insignificant to a club like us. But like we showed with Perisic last year we will not be taken for a ride.
And again. Napoli have offered a fee just 2 mil short of our valuation. So there is no need to accept the scraps Juve are offering. Having more than one suitor helps us in that regard. Italy aren't going to the world cup so we have time to negotiate at our own pace.
There is no need to worry.

Not necessarily.I hope it all works out in the end and we get rid of him for a decent fee. But there's always a chance you can price a player out of a move.
I'm not convinced Napoli really did make an offer, wasn't that just one source?
And if we were negotiating for Sandro you would imagine both he and Darmian would have been part of the same deal.
Not really. I'd be quite happy with Andreas Pereira taking his place on the bench this coming season.Yeah, we don't have unlimited funds, so I don't get why people want Fellaini to leave so bad. It's gonna cost us to bloody replace him.

But you feel Fellaini should accept this in his peak years? I can't believe you don't think a player coming back from loan wouldn't take a place in the first team squad on the bench and starting some cup games? What do you think management is going to do though? They said if Fellaini leaves we need to replace him. Not that Pereira will just come in and sit on the bench.

It is out of our hands. You made out with your post that keeping Fellaini is something we should be doing, so we don't have to go out and replace him. Well we have offered him a contract, he has refused and seeks to play elsewhere. Your comment of "I don't get why people want Fellaini to leave so bad" means nothing really because it is him that wants to leave so bad. If all the fans on here wanted him to stay, we would still have to replace him because he wants to leave. Get me?No, I am saying the management are not just going to replace Fellaini with Pereira. They have already said they would buy someone to replace him.

But what has that got to do with anything? If Fellaini leaves it is because he wants to, not because some fans want him to. You posting reasons why we should want him to stay means nothing, because it is him that wants to leave. Who are you going to hold responsible for the reason you give above when he leaves? The fans, or Fellaini?People don't seem to take into account that Fellaini leaving is not good for our squad building. That's the point I am trying to make. If he leaves and we have to replace him, and then we cant sign a CB is it really a good thing that he left?
