If we had let him go for peanuts then all we would hear is "United never get a decent fee!"

I am happy to see him sit in the stands, doesn't affect me.

United are one of the worlds richest clubs, but we can't be doing shit like that. It's a business after all, you won't always get the price you want for a player that all potential buyers know you want rid of.

With Depay and Schneiderlin we got good fees for them, pretty much recouped what we paid for them. We bought Darmian for £12m which is what Juve were offering, seemed like a good deal to me.

People do love an overreaction, don't they? Remember Juventus loves rotating their full back/ wing back. They failed to replace Dani Alves with De Sciglio. Cancelo is more like that replacement. They also lost Evra so so far De Sciglio got Evra place. Now Asamoa and Lichsteiner left, they look for this back up role. Do people beleive they're after Darmian as starter?

Real Madrid are getting tired of Ronaldo expressing his discomfort in public and don’t plan to raise his salary

Absolute bargain. They'll sell him for more than double that in a few years.
Monchi doing his magic, Schick, Unger, Coric, Kluivert, Cristante and also rumors about Berardi and Ziyech. All young and all great talents.

Fekir? This has got to BS

Hysterical if true though

Cannot wait to see him flop in the PL (and will reference this post when he does)

Lengelt links make no sense to be frank.
I hope this is just us telling Spurs that we would rather walk away than pay 55 million plus for Toby.
Another young CB is not what we want and from what I've seen of him he doesn't look like a special player.

De Ligt and Pavard are special, you can see it when you watch them play. I just don't get the same feel when I watch Lengelt. He actually reminds me of Lindelof with his style of play.
Of course he is better in the air and maybe better physically but not really a huge improvement.
I hope we aren't buying him for the sake of buying a CB.
I'm not an expert on Lenglet, but I've seen enough teams roll over Sevilla in La Liga not be be enthusiastic about signing anyone from their back line. Maybe their poor form was down to having a poor manager and inadequate training sessions, like I vaguely recall reading somewhere. He looked impressive at Old Trafford, but United's nervous, disastrous performance made everyone from Sevilla look world class.

No. Long legs was clearly the best player at Old Trafford. He was monsterous and stopped everything that night only for Ben Yedder to jump on the pitch and kill us. Muriel on the other hand was doing everything in his power not to kill us.

That being said... I think it's probably one/two seasons too early for Lenglet to move. He should probably keep playing and get a bit more experience at Sevilla imo.

De Gea for Ronaldo anyone?

Only on one condition: if De Gea desperately wants to leave. Then yeah. Moreover, a player like Cristiano is a once in a generation type. He can turn us into title winners in one season.

We will be in a bind if we decide to let DDG go. With our current defenders line up, DDG is crucial.

I wouldn't swap DDG for Ronaldo. Mendes and Perez can do one.

In my opinion he's on the slide. Ronaldo probably has one year at the top. DDG has a decade. Obviously, if he wants to go the he should have our blessings for the service provided.

Make shit up and when it doesn't happen he will rant about the Glazers and Woodward not spending money even though we have spent a lot since SAF retired.

De Gea should be the highest paid player in the team and wearing the captains arm band. No other player is more valuable to the team or plays to his standards.

No idea if they are the only side mate, but the only solid links were with them.

We've been better at getting decent prices for decent players in recent years like Schneiderlin and Depay. Difference is Darmian is crap, you say it's terrible business. I say it's worse business to risk the sale of a player you clearly want to sell and you manager has no plans for.

Put it this way Darmian is supposedly on £60k a week with only one year left on his contract and Juve were offering £12m. So if he stays we've lost out on a +£12m fee vs -£3m wages (-£15m when no fee is taken into account) i know what looks better to me.

Well Darmian is unlikely to play if he stays anyway, so not sure how much of a punishment that is. Also why are you suggesting Darmian be punished? He didn't do anything to potentially scupper the deal United did.

Juve were offering us basically what we paid for him in 2015. 3 years older, and has just had 3 crap seasons. No idea how it wasn't seen as a good offer.
It's not good enough an offer for us though.

Considering the price inflation in the market.

Juve would also do the same if the roles were reversed. It's not like we have to sell Darmian. It's not a significant financial outlay for us.

If Napoli are offering better terms, its up to Darmian to either accept that move or stay here and not play.
