A Barca director said yesterday that Neymar was 'untransferable'; so it doesn't really matter whether Neymar believes that we're prepared to buy-out his contract or that the moon is made of Mars bars, really.

Nothing to see here, really, since we don't really want to blow our whole transfer budget on one player. Think it's just a show of strength by the club, while focusing on other targets.

Not saying it'll happen but Barca's opinion doesn't mean anything if United pay the buyout clause

Damn. You detected the flaw in my rubbish thinking, chief. Note to all posters: please ignore my future posts on football, and just about every other subject.

The Neymar thing is annoying. At this point I'd be happy to replace that with persistent Gaitan, Garay, and Gurain rumors.

The way he writes the story is rather telling. "Neymar expects..." i.e. it's likely coming from his side. I'm sure Dunc could ask his little Portugese chum if it's true, albeit that might mean not helping Neymar to get the new contract he's so obviously looking for. I'm sure United would try to buy him, if he was available, though.

Isn't his buyout clause like three players worth?

We could get Silva, Griez and Fabinho for the same money.

It's basically Matt Law saying "we want Morata and Griezmann up front, Oblak to replace De Gea, with Eric Dier also coming in"

That wouldn't be a bad summer at all. Only thing missing is a centre back.

I can see us getting Griezmann and Morata, with De Gea going to Madrid. But I'm not too sure we'll get either Oblak or Dier with neither club wanting to sell.

I'm not sure how I'd feel about both Griezmann and Morata. I'd prefer we kept faith with at least one but preferably both Rashford and Martial as things stand right now. Sorry as I realise this is one those 'why sign X when you already have y'; 'it's a player you can't miss out on'; 'why do we have to choose/we can rotate them' kind of arguments.

Griezmann and Morata will be a Rooney and Zlatan replacement respectively. Griezmann will move straight into the first team and I reckon Morata will be preferred number 9 with Rashford starting there when pace in behind is required. The one who suffers the most here is Martial and not say Rashford, as in recent games Mourinho has preferred playing Rashford as a LW, so that trend may well be seen next season as well.

I somehow can't bring myself to rate Morata, no idea if it's down to watching him mostly in CL games for Juve/RM or he just isn't very good.

I'm the same, i'd be a little disappointed if we signed him to be honest, flatters to deceive when i watch him - although like you i may not have watched enough of him.

Morata is not a bad option to have as a striker. He may come as part of the deal that takes De Gea to Madrid. But if there's any player (that's gettable) and I would prefer to be involved in the deal, it would be Isco. The guy has come in whenever he's been asked and put in very good performances when the star players have been out and helped Real with crucial victories. If we get Griezmann & Isco. We would have Rashford, Martial & Griezmann fighting for the striker role while Griezmann and Isco can play in the second striker as well and he's only 24. I don't understand why we are not in for him.

I would want Griezmann and belotti rather than him and morata, i think jose gave morata his debut so probabloy has seen enough of him and is confident in his ability.

Similar to what Marotta was saying a couple of weeks before Pogba signed for us.

Does Barca have a say If Neymar buys his contract out?

If we get in the CL, 4 forwards would be minimum (some of them being able to play different positions as well). I am pretty sure Jose won't want to run into injuries and fatigue issues again next year.

I doubt Neighmar could move to another clubs as the price would simply be too high for anyone to consider. We're obviously not going to buy him and the only other clubs capable are Chelsea, City, PSG, or Madrid and I doubt they would spend upwards of 100m for a player who has average 25 goals a year in La Liga.
