André Gomes (Not Gomez as earlier mentioned), transferred for €35 million - same fee for Renato Sanches
Wasn't that from Valencia to Barcelona - not the Portugese league? Or was that the fee for his move from Benfica to Valencia?

Would love him back but can't see him coming to United. We are short a full time LB though. Shaw has caught Jonesitis and Darmian is crap. Blind is not a long term solution either. Bring Patty back to help mold Shaw?

Anyone watches Juventus that can clarify which level he is currently playing at? He lost a step in his last year with us, and the pace and intensity is a lot lower in the Serie A, might not be a good idea.

Nailed on as a club ambassador whenever he calls it quits though, one of our greatest personalites ever, and he is still a red by heart.

I would actually hate to see Evra back in the Premier League unless it's us. One of the few players where it just wouldn't be nice seeing him in another jersey in England, I'd take him back in a heartbeat. I don't know how good he'd be, but just seeing him in a United jersey again would make it worth it.

Evra is not a good footballer right now. I have mates who support juve, they think he is an amazing influence in dressing room but doesnt cut the mustard as a player anymore, age seems to have caught up with him.

Suso was killing him in the Supercup last week. I would still take him back on a short term deal though, big personality and leader who was a mentor to Pogba and can do something similar with others maybe, particularly Shaw.

I was just saying to someone the other day that i think Evra will end up coming back here in some sort of role. Not sure what sort of level he's capable of playing at now as I've not seen him play in a while, but i had heard that he's not been great for Juve this season?

Doubt he'd be coming back to us. Darmian, Blind and Shaw are all used there. He will go to a midtable club.

Darmian is shit.

Shaw is always injured or unfit.

Blind has been steady.

For me makes sense to sign him up

Cover here would be glorious for big Pat

Mourinho still rates Darmian quite highly given the number of games he's played over Blind.

Evra lost a step in his last couple of seasons here and doubt he'd be happy in a cover role given its one of the reasons he decided to leave in the first place. Not really good enough to be a starter anymore, even with the options we do have.

His leadership alone would be an immense addition. Might even be a calming influence on Pogba and more importantly Martial.

Love him but we don't need a fecking mascot. Signing him just for dressing room influence when, we don't even have enough quality players is nuts.

Evra in his last couple of seasons with us wasn't upto the standards United require of a player in my opinion.

I'd be happy to see him return as a ambassador/coach, but not as a player

If he isn't good enough for a team having an easy time of it at the top of an inferior league then I don't see what he will offer us. He will be heading to Swansea with Giggs or such like.

Shaw at 18 played quite a bit better than Evra at 32 did in the 2013/2014 season. Shaw has since improved a fair bit, while Evra has only gotten worse. To put into context Darmian was in the Seria A team of the year a few years back and most want him out now, so Evra's performances for Juve (although his level has dropped this season) isn't likely to be reproducible for us in the premier league. Evra can undoubtedly return, but it shouldn't be as a player, but rather as a club ambassador or as a full back coach.

I'd say at the very best he's playing at the same level. Possibly even regressed slightly.

I didn't watch him an awful lot of him at Southampton tbh. But at the least, he's improved positionally and technically. Regardless, my point was about why it wouldn't be a good move to bring back Evra as a player. I'd love to have him back at the club for other reasons though.

If evra is up for it, I could see Jose bringing him for influence. Similar to how he brought drogba to be in the pecking order behind friggin Loic Remy

He's still playing regularly for France, isn't he? Can't be that bad if that's the case. Would love to see back here as a backup for Shaw and i'm sure he wouldn't mind that

They really don't have much there. Tremoulinas is decent but often hurt, Kurzawa and Signed can't defend, Clichy is just Clichy.

I love Evra, but it probably makes more sense for him to go back to Ligue 1, stay in Italy or help a team with a massive hole at LB like West Brom or Palace.

He has been quite poor this year at LB and LWB. He's had a few OK games as the left sided centreback in a 3-5-2.

Alex Sandro is putting in world class performances on the left ahead of him, so they are no longer rotating as they did last year.

With Evra's pace, he would be killed against dynamic wingers and most counter attacking teams in the PL play with skilful flair players in the wings. The romanticism is good but not realistic. He isn't anywhere near the player he was for us and would be a step in the wrong direction in my opinion.

As it is, we already have multiple high earnering seniors who only warm the bench and we would be better off staying clear of this. Of course, he is welcome as a club ambassador or coach anytime due to his passion and leadership ability.

I genuinely feels that he loves the club and would be happy to be involved in some form or there other. Doesn't need to be brought on as a player.

He could easily give us good six month period considering the number of matches we could play in next few months, our LB position is not settled yet that doesn't mean he would be the answer but he could be valuable source of knowledge to player like Shaw/Darmian and I hope he doesn't mind playing matches here and there. It could be difficult going for him in PL considering his lack of pace but we could benefit out of him elsewhere. His influence in the dressing room can't be ignored.

I would take Evra for 6 month right now and then let him go to US in the summer.

Having him back in the team would be a massive bonus for the fans, the staff but also for Pogba

One player who would be really happy to have Uncle Pat back would be Pogba! We should sign him just so that we can see more videos of them joking around

I can't post the tweet right now but apparently we're considering a bid for Oxelaide-Chamberlain in January.

I'm not sure Wenger will sell to a top four rival though.
