We were so desperate for MF upgrades that some people would have taken De Jong when we were linked with him in LVG's first season
Nigel reo cocker had a great game against us once, everyone here wanted to sign him. I remember when i was stalker him and mark noble were the shit. Also scott parker, that red head guy who signed from reading for chelsea on a free, steve something? If caf signed midfielders for us wed be shit before fergie was gone.

Is that a joke?
i think he does not know how shit rakitic has been this year with barca fans complaining about him all the time. He has played badly whenever he has played.Maybe just saw the name and put world class as he is barca player.

Is that a joke?

Probably using internet explorer and a post from 2014 just got posted

He's absolutely class and doesn't get anywhere near enough credit for what he does. Actually watch him play properly over a period of matches then you can tell me I'm wrong. There's not one club or country in World football he wouldn't be a natural starter for

Whether he's over or underrated is irrelevant when you make such a bold statement. It's your right to have an opinion but if you genuinely think he's better than the likes of Modric and Kroos then quite frankly it's a ridiculous opinion.

When was the last time you actually watched him play? He was excellent for Barcelona when he joined but he's been out of form for ages. I don't want him at City but I don't think Utd need him at the moment.

We should be worried. If City get Rakitic you can bet your arse they will come in for Herrera.

As much as I love Herrera he's definitely not Barca quality, no chance we let him go halfway through the season anyway.

What's the deal with Sevilla and dopers?

It's an inefficiency and Seville are sharp. To quote Matt Taibbi on acquiring players in the other kind of football:

DRAFT THE WEED GUY. There's never been a more obvious year to capitalize on failed-drug-test draft fallers. To quickly recap: guys who batter cheerleaders with bricks or commit armed robbery or drive drunk with loaded pistols in their glove compartments are genuine character concerns, but a kid who just likes to smoke weed... that's every college student in America. You want your star athlete, if he's going to have a vice, to be a pothead. In fact, hopefully, he's going straight from practice to his TV, blazing up and watching cartoons all afternoon. That means he's not getting in real trouble. Yet every year, great talents like Percy Harvin and Moss and Sapp plummet in the draft because of failed weed tests, and smart teams scoop them up, put them on the Whizzinator therapy plan, and cash in big-time.

Three big-time players fall into this category this year: ex-LSU corner Tyrann "Honey Badger" Mathieu, ex-Tennessee/Tennessee Tech receiver Da'Rick Rogers, and that California wideout Keenan Allen. Minus the drug issue, Rogers might have been the top wide receiver on the board this year – he was one of the best wideouts in college in 2011 and should have been first-team all-SEC that year over both LSU's Reuben Randle (who had a good rookie year in the NFL last fall) and Arkansas wideout Jarius Wright (who didn't). The guy is built like a young T.O., has great hands, and runs like the proverbial bowling ball covered with razor blades. But he's going in the second or third round, if not later, because he failed drug tests, got booted from Tennessee and had to spend this year getting triple-covered at Tennessee Tech (where he still managed to run laughing through the whole Oregon defense on a middle screen last November).

Mathieu and Allen have other problems – Allen may be hurt and Mathieu only benched 4 reps at the combine, which is pathetic. You can pick any of the Kardashian girls at random, and she could probably do at least 5 reps. I'd still pick Mathieu if he was around after the third round because at the very least, he's going to be a top special-teamer and punt returner. Anyway, in general, it's a solid class of potsmokers. Mr. Khan, if you're listening, pick any of them if they're around late, a la Hernandez.

I think some people just go off reputation. Kroos is miles better than Rakitic by reputation. When you actually watch them play football, one is head and shoulders above the other

Massimo Taibi said all that?

I don't get this from Chelsea. He was doing fantastic at Bournemouth, even scoring the winner against their current closest title rivals. It's not like Chelsea are going to play him much anyway.

I wonder why they're recalling him back, he's playing week in week out for Bournemouth, if he wasn't getting game time I would understand.

If its a Serie A striker we're after, I'd rather Icardi.

Why? Seen much of Belotti? I'm no expert on Serie A-football, but Belotti must be one of the most exciting italian talents in quite some time. That might not say much, but he looks like an incredible talent and just what we should be looking for.

I genuinely believe that the West Ham owners don't actually want to sign a striker but just love the chase. Honestly.

Icardi just seems a far more experienced player who has consistently delivered for the third season running now.
2014/15: 33 games, 22 goals, 6 assists
2015/16: 32 games, 16 goals, 4 assists
2016/17: 19 games, 14 goals, 6 assists

Belotti is the exact same age and has only just come into showing this sort of form. This is also only his second season where he is consistently a first choice player (compared to Icardi who was a first choice striker at Sampdoria when he was 18/19). There's also the ongoing argument about Italians outside of Italy and whatnot... I just think Icardi makes far more sense, whilst Belotti looks like a bit more of a punt. I'm certainly no Serie A expert, I'm just going off of the stats and the limited football I've seen.

He's got this the wrong way round.

Cahill and Alonso are probably the two weakest starters in the Chelsea squad and Ake can offer competition at the very least for either spot. I'm sure he'll be getting some gametime if Conte has gone to the trouble of recalling him.

He was class...but he's been pretty bad this season. He's 29 with huge mileage and his engine is one of his greatest strength...with that failing him a bit this season his performance dropped. I wouldn't be too worried if City gets him. By the time he adjusts to PL he'll be 30 and he can easily do a Schweinsteiger and fall off quickly. Certainly don't want him in United.

Hugely suspicious story. Since when did players, particularly foreign ones, become so attached to managers? Sounds like someone's planting stories to make Wenger irreplaceable during contract negotiations.

Just finished watching Pilib De Bruns YouTube video and according to him "He knows we're trying to sign Griezmann and Utd have held formal talks with him and United are confident of signing him in the summer".

He also said Semedo will arrive in the summer and we're interested in signing Bakayoko.

Maybe he reads RedCafe.

Maybe he does, he also has world cup winners and some of the most respected sports Journos on his show.
His show, Beyond The Pitch, is sponsored by Nike. He has worked for ESPN, Sirius XFM. He's had some amazing guests on his show and has great contacts in the football world and sports journalism world.

But hey, a few nobodies on redcafe think he's a bullshitter, so just discount all that other stuff.
