Really like Dier, a bit underated on here, he'd provide the platform for the rest of the midfield to get more license to roam with him holding. He's really decent with his feet, good passing range, big, tall strong, could fill in at CB, very young. Would take him tomorrow.

Same guy who reported Silva/mendy to city. So looks like Pep will get his business done very very early.

Interesting. Maybe this will open the door for us to move for Ederson if Dave leaves. Portuguese media linked us with him yesterday.

Yeah, quite surprised how poorly he's rated on here. Is there really that big a gap between him and Fabinho?

City right? I don't think he's good enough so hope its not Utd.
Yes city
Silva -70 million
Mendy- 45 million
Walker-45 million
Peckford -26 million

That is 186 million from city, i think that will be that for them. If the sign fabinho on top of these 4, they will be clear favourites for the league.

They need to sign a centre back. That is the area (before the departures of their 4 players yesterday) they severely lack in quality. Also, like you say a centre midfielder/defensive midfielder is a necessity.

Keane 25m
Griezmann 89m
Lukaku 60-80m
Dier 30-45m

Total 204 - 239m

If we were to sell a couple of players that brings it in around budget.
We will get a discount of 25 % on keane. Dont think we will sign lukaku, maybe Morata for 40-50 million. We already have 40 million from sale of depay and schniderlin.
It will be closer to 150 million for us.

Oh no I don't think we will either. He's just the most expensive striker I've seen us linked to so used him to show we could still afford it.

TBF, the last Spurs CM we bought wasn't that highly regarded, but he's done yeoman's work. Still would prefer Fabinho, but it seems Pep is getting all the glamour toys this season, while we look like we're getting coal. Early days, yet, but the current news sure has taken the buzz off of United winning the EL. Heck, maybe the Monaco boys weren't Jose's cup of tea, but they sure made the cafe go ga-ga. Eh, muppet season :wenger:

Notice how the media have gone from saying United want deals done in 2 weeks to saying that we hope to have some players lined up by pre season on July 9th?

That's some difference.

I'd be wary of us bringing in Griezmann as our only attacking option, particularly with Rooney almost certainly off and question marks rightfully hanging over Ibra. There is the potential for our only out and out strikers for the start of next season being Rashford and Martial which simply wouldn't be enough.

Yeah that's true tbf. Think we will look to sign someone like morata

They will have gundogan back and have retained toure. They also have fernandinho and Fernando. 4 players for one position, which also Kompany can play is a bit of overkill.
Think if they go for a centre half they wont go for midfielder. Otherwise they will spend in excess of 300 million to land everyone and that would be Insane.

Kompany returned and he seems in fine form, if he stays fit they just need to identify the right player to play alongside him.

The links with Costa and Lucas Moura. Can the experts tell me? Are they more powerful runners with the ball rather than twinkle-toed dribblers like Silva?

On power alone, yes, but that doesn't make them in any way more effective. Though I am still a big fan of Moura.

I just think, that Jose has set out on a path and has a plan in his head as to how he want this team to look and not sure Silva would fit into it, not without changing everything again. He fits in at City.

To be honest, I'd see Silva fitting in better than Costa. Silva works very hard, Costa is supposed to have a shite attitude. But I do see your point, Mourinho does appreciate his athletic, powerful players. Moura would be a very good signing, not that it'll happen.

Yeah, when you look at it rationally, he does. Doesn't mean he wouldn't have improved us, but he probably was enamored with the thought of playing for Pep. Jose would rather have a player like Costa or Willian, but then again, Pep did get Costa at Bayern, so maybe the difference is slight. Jose definitely prefers more graft than Pep.

Agree, I think someone like Costa would fit in a Jose side more than Silva.

Costa actually seems to be a winger that can cross out wide and shoot when cutting in. Lucas Moura is just disappointing.
