I'm almost sure if Belotti goes to AM in 2 years we'll be saying we should have signed him when he left Torino

Mourinho's said earlier that he would want four players, but he didn't mention about replacing those who have left. I would image he will want his four plus any replacements. I wouldn't be suprised if we looked at 6-8 incoming (4 to be first team improvements, 3-4 to be squad improvements).

You got the link where he says he wants 4?

Seems too few, particularly since we need to find new legs for Carrick and Valencia on top of plugging holes in the obvious areas.

'We prefer to bring two three or four players who feel an idea, a football we try to play, and that can improve our squad. We are not interested in signing six or seven or selling six or seven. We are not going to play this game.

Obviously things have changed a bit since then.

Key quote: We prefer to bring two, three or four players, but good players. Players that feel an idea, a football that we try to play, that can improve our squad. We are not interested in selling six or seven and buy six or seven, and from this six or seven only one or two are great quality.

Mourinho was very accurate about our transfer plans last summer and in January so when he says it will be 2-4 new signings that's what I am expecting.

He later said this would need to be revised due to Ibra and Rojo injuries.

Not sure why people why people like Lukaku. He seems to fill his boots for a while then disappears at the business end of the season.

I don't know - because he scores goals ? 42 in his last 73 for Everton...we have had 2 players in the last 40 years doing better than that....

TFM and Rashford were already in the team plans from the end of previous season so sensible to count them as replacement for players who might leave. Tuanzebe and Pereira might play a bigger role next season. For the rest I don't really see any youngsters who could add anything to the first team.

So 6-10 players who left/are leaving

2 new young players that might take up a first team role

Adding 3-4 players is still not enough, should be adding 5-6 atleast imo

I would say we need 2 more players than we have now - so basically if we offload 2, we should sign 4. There are 2-3 youngsters who deserve a chance now

Ibrahimovic's injury means we need to buy a striker. However he was already refusing to extend his contract with us when Mourinho spoke about the number of players we would be signing. Hence why he was vague and said two, three or four because some of the players he would like to keep (Ibrahimovic and De Gea) might want to leave and would need replacing if they did. Ibrahimovic's injury means two is no longer a possibility. If De Gea leaves as well then it has to be four. Maybe he could stretch to five but no more given how dismissive he was of the idea.

Not really going to put much stock into Graham Hunter, and I haven't ever since Sergio Ramos' brother took him for a ride a couple of summers ago.

Very surprised we weren't in for him, especially as he is a Utd fan and the position we need.

We can't sign them all. I'm sure we have a different midfielder in mind.

Besides, I'd like to see the return of Milan.

Zlatan is out until when? January or something? Guess its a real possibility that we won't feel it worth £300k a week until then for nothing. Such a shame if he departs like that.

I think they have a deal with Pool that they get them -50%

Southampton getting too big for their feeder club boots. I guess that's a Sakho and £30m then. The high valuation may certainly scare cash only buyers which is good for us from a distant possibility perspective.

---------Fabinho-------Pogba-----------
Silva----------James-----------Mkhitaryan
---------------Griezmann-----------------
We would win the league with that line up. If we couldnt score goals with that going forward, we might have to think about pissing on the corner flags to lift a curse.
