I beg to differ. Even at the clubs you mention, BILD reports a lot of BS, or we have a very different definition of what 'reliable' means.
If whoever leaks information from your club to Hamburg's media (IIRC, you're a HSV fan, right?) and that includes BILD, or when until very recently Klaus Allofs chats to all local Wolfsburg papers, Kicker and BILD, it's IMHO not BILD that is reliable but that some attention-seeking folks cannot keep themselves together.
Bayern seem to have tightened up roughly since Hoeneß was jailed, similar Cologne since Schmadtke has been in charge, and in Bremen I don't find BILD reliable but 'Syker Kreiszeitung'.
In Leverkusen, I find Frank Lussem (spell?) from Kicker quite reliable but not BILD. Most reliable however is a particular user in a Leverkusen forum. :D

You're kidding, right? If not, who? :D

Were we to ban any and all transfer rumours out of Portugal, how many deals would we miss out on knowing about across the average season?

I'd wager 0.8

I kid you not but won't say who. :D This guy must have connections close to Völler or Boldt because he was often spot on before Reschke departed to Bayern and still is. He' a tad earlier with insights than Lussem goes public in Kicker / on Kicker online, and seems to know a bit more.
As far as I can see, he hasn't said anything on Chicha yet and hence, I'm not sold on the BILD story yet or to phrase it differently: It supports my skepticism. As I've suggested earlier: It wouldn't be surprising if Chicha wants to leave but this doesn't mean he actually wants to, or that Chelsea are intested.

Interesting.

I really rated him whilst he played in England, I wonder why nobody took the plunge.

Buyout clause of €30m? That's a no-brainer, sign him up!
If it's a toss up between the signing of N'Zonzi and Bakayoko, then it's a tough one. N'Zonzi is the superior player atm, with the better technical (keeping possession and passing) and aerial ability. But Bakayoko is quicker and the better dribbler along with being about 6 years younger. I'm not sure how much Bayayoko will cost, but perhaps he's the better option long term. Saying that, N'Zonzi with his release clause can be bought this window, while Monaco surely wouldn't entertain selling Bakayoko.

N'Zonzi is a player a lot of sides should be looking at.

Didn't know about that release clause, surely one we'll be looking at.

How is his passing and ball skills? I can't remember much from him in England.

Get them both? We will need more than one midfield signing, we need depth there. At the moment we have a wasteland in the position once we move past Pogba, Herrera and Carrick...and Carrick will be 36 next year.

I would rather Fosu-Mensah get more chances in the team if I'm being honest.

Yeah if we continue with a midfield three we'll need rotation for Herrera \ Pogba as well. Schneider, Schwein and hopefully Fellaini are all gone in the summer, leaving us light in mf.

I hope we are having a look at Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, seen him twice and he looks like an absolute machine, also the pace on him is quite something.

Corentin Tolisso is also someone I've heard people rave about, only seen him a few times and can't remember much though.

Would be surprised if both Schneiderlin and Memphis didn't move on in January.

If thats true about Zlatan then I bloody hope he's planning to go striker shopping in January. We can't be that reliant on a 35 year old staying fit all season.

Agreed. We can't rely on Martial/ Rashford/ Rooney to carry us either based on current form.

Not buying a striker could prove to be a very risky strategy by Mourinho.

I think both Martial and Rashford would be fine if needed the chances are being created I think either would put some of those chances away dispite their current form, maybe try them out in the cup . IF mourinho thinks we need to add fine.

Similar in play style, so if we were to sign another midfielder on top of 1 of these 2, I'd prefer us get a more technically gifted player that can control the possession (that's what we would miss when Carrick and to a lesser extent Schweinsteiger leave).

He said we couldnt get a striker of sufficient quality in January but might sign one in the Summer (Griezmann?). The journo then suggested Sturridge. So what would you choose, Sturridge now or Griezmann in the Summer? ;)

Zlatan has been relatively injury-free throughout his career so getting a new striker in January is not really necessary. Rashford has done well in the CF position. We should not judge his form this season based on him playing on the wings. Martial and Rooney can also fill up when needed. We should go for a top striker like Icardi or Aubameyang(not likely) in the summer.

City want to sign Nzonzi. Their offer is close to his release clause, they want to find an agreement with the player now.

Almost weird that we are not in the mix. Losing Carrick would be a disaster too. And he is injury prone and will need to be replaced soon anyway.

Rashford is more than capable of stepping in for Ibra.

But Ibra is a freak athlete so I have no worries about him getting injured.

Nelsinho, Bakayoko and Lindeloff would be 3 exciting prospects if we were to buy but I'm really hoping we splash the cash on James Rodriguez. He would be outstanding at United.

I don't think he would. He's best at no10, a position we don't really play when Pogba's on the field. All we'd be doing if we sign James is filling Real's pockets so they can splurge on their next Galactico signing.

I like Rashford but he is not capable of replacinf ibra at present. We're so reliant on him its insane.

Keita is definitely the right profile of player we should be targeting.

Out of curiosity, what makes him the right profile? I don't know the guy, so I'm not trying to catch you out here. Just interested.

I'd have said Memphis at the time was the right profile of player.

He was, just because it didn't work out doesn't mean he wasn't

He's a fantastic dribbler with lightning pace that can be a threat in any advanced position. Only 21yrs old and will get better and better. His contract expires in 2018 so Lazio may sell.

Memphis was never good enough to be play for us in my opinion. I even expressed my doubts about his ability just before we signed him.
