Allegedly Bale is on his way out this summer with us, Chelsea, PSG and Bayern interested. 100 million euros is the price.

I would take Bale here but not for 100m,

There is only 1 player we can spend that kind of money on this summer and the only one worth it atm is Griezmann

Is there? I'm expecting us to spend about £150m at least, anyway. Then add in the sale of DDG. You're looking at £200m+

Well we need more than 2 players so if you account for a 200m transfer kitty, we can only sign one 100m player this summer, as we need the rest for other transfers (midfield, centreback, fullback, striker)

So Real Madrid actually went on and signed an Atletico player? Thought those 2 clubs had some sort of a gentleman's agreement...

Would be nice if we beat them to Griezmann and kept De Gea. Just like we beat them to Pogba last summer.

Would be funny if we are buying Griezmann and Oblak and sending de Gea to Atletico Madrid instead of Real Madrid.

I'd rather have Bale than Griezmann tbh.
I would have.... a few years ago. Given age difference, if price is same (or even similar), go for Griezmann now - will still have option of renewing contract in 2/3/4 years time OR selling for good money if cant agree.

With Bale (who I have ALWAYS rated), dont see the resale option.

And, I'd be pissed to lose out to Real then give them all their money back for a player who has four years left to play.

I can imagine Bale leaving this summer or next.

Whilst he has made a contribution to Real, there seems to be a consensus that he just doesn't fit it.

Hard to tell. Bale would be perfect position wise and being Welsh and at Real, we could keep him for quite a long time. But his injuries are a concern.

Griezmann is never injured and the hot new thing right now for quite some time. I would take Griezmann, he is not a crock.

Bale gets injured almost as much as Reus these days. I don't think that would be a wise investment for us.

Bale would absolutely destroy teams for us, but he seems to spend as much time injured as the chuckle brothers in our defense. That's the only reason I wouldn't want him at that kind of price. If we could somehow negotiate it to be less I would be all for it, but that's not likely.

Please post the tweet or the source. Without that, the purpose of this thread is defeated.

If we ever signed Bale, poor Martial will have to give up another number just for the "Welsh attacker = 11" marketing we'll no doubt want to promote.

You do realize there's less than two years between them? Right now Griezmann is 26, and Bale is 27 (turning 28 in July).

The fact that he's made of glass and rarely plays more than 50% of RMs games in a season makes it a scary transfer, though.

Surely he doesnt miss that much? If true then he should stay away from the PL

Bale is built for the type of play I think we're going for, but his muscles are made from 60gsm paper.

You're right, it's more like 35%. Since he arrived at Madrid, he's missed 80 of 220 games or so.

Edit: Since the start of the 15/16 season he's missed literally 50% of RMs games through various injuries.

I'd love Bale but surely his injuries need to be looked at, we don't have a good record with injuries as it is.

Plus if jones is in training you just know he'll break his leg

44, 48, 31 apps for Real in the past three full seasons, 26 games so far this season. The story goes that they rush him back ASAP every time as he's Perez' pet which obviously causes him to get re-injured. I'm not too excited about this due to the injury history, age and price, but a fit and in form Bale would still be fantastic to have.
