Once in a generation. feck me you Utd fans don't half make me laugh with this bullshit. Ronaldo was once in a generation. Not some player who achieved 6th place.

Pogba is a good player and I like him but the overrating is beyond the pale. Beyond RAWK. Far beyond.

You said that Jordan Ibe was better than Sterling when Sterling was sold to Man City. Sit down.

We are the biggest club in the world mate. City is not even close. They have bought a good team, thats it.

Serious footballers still want to play for the biggest clubs in the world. To say to your grandchildren that you player for United, Real or Barca is just something else.
Sanchez actually made a commercial where he is telling his grandchildren how he won the 2018 World Cup. Not kidding.

Keita and Pogba are simply incomparable. You will not find many players like Pogba, the physicality of a box-to-box player, the passing vision and range of a deep lying playmaker, the dribbling and technical skills of an attacking midfielder. He can legitimately play all 3 roles at the top level.
I wholeheartedly agree with this assessment. This is his true value as a team-player, especially being managed by a pragmatic tactician. He will be overhyped by some - because of his attacking abilities and his social standing. Then undervalued by others - while disregarding his allround-capabilities. But in truth, he is about to become a "once in a generation" type midfielder.

‘If you bring one player in for £100m and he gets injured, then it all goes through the chimney,’ said Klopp.

‘The day that this is football, I’m not in a job anymore, because the game is about playing together

‘That is how everybody in football understands it. You always want to have the best, but building the group is necessary to be successful.

‘Other clubs can go out and spend more money and collect top players. I want to do it differently. I would even do it differently if I could spend that money.'

Exactly my thoughts, Klopp is the biggest hypocrite. No Liverpool fans can judge United if they sign Keita for 95m euros. He’s a good CM but no where near world class. And I still believe, even in this market, you pay near £100m for top bracket players.

Everyone on their squad is once in a generation player. Same thing with Mourinho. Once in a generation man child. If they sign Griezmann or Dybala or Sanchez - once in a generation player.

I love the reactions here based on mindless tweets. Nothing is finalized or announced yet everyone wants to laugh at the prices that the ITKs are passing around.

Why are you even here?

I hate how the press is talking about the Sanchez transfer. If he joins us its because of the money, but if he joins the mighty city its because of the trophies !!!
fecking stupidity !! it is obvious he is asking for the money from both parties you idiots.

The summer will be the chance to see how much we're really going all out. Right now we're just spending last season's rumoured budget because we failed to get those players in then.
Last September a fair few people were disillusioned with the summer because we were told we had 150 mill plus sales to spend having made a profit the previous summers and in addition to the tv deal money and CL. Now it's been spent but it has the caveat of Phil going. So we actually once again ended up in profit. If you want to build a quality squad you buy players on top of what you have not instead of. So we'll see yet, nobody knows weather it's actual intent or typical FSG bluster, it's postive signs so far but we'll see yet.

It's a weird narrative that's purely based on Pep, think things would be different if they had someone different in charge. The story was reversed when we had Fergie and were dealing with Man "money" City.

Based upon the evidence so far, FSG seem to be break even owners, which is actually no bad thing in football. The problem is the emergence of the super rich club owners who don't care about breaking even who have skewed the market.

This said, if the super rich owners went away, united would arguably be the biggest beneficiaries as the club who makes the largest revenue from its business model. So what I'm saying is, Liverpool are screwed either way :D

Inexcusable, even for a partisan fan. Ibe has always been totally pony.
It's like the Liverpool fans who thought Woodburn should replace Coutinho.
Sterling was always streets ahead of Ibe at youth level. Such fantastic descion making for a player of that age with the requisite physical attributes to match and cope in the league.
Just goes to show why everyone is glad fans aren't running clubs.

If they pay 95m € for Keita, Liverpool fans need to shut up about spending, silly money and Pogba forever. With that sum in mind, Pogba turns out to have been a bargain. :wenger:

True but we don't need them to constantly break the bank, we've been frugal for a while now in a few summers under them and we've built ourselves in to a good position with a top class manager. The money then there became available, it won't be City/United money every summer but for a one off splurge it's there and still is. We've had a more targeted approach and shifted to players in the 24-25 category rather than buying a bunch of 20 yo prospects. Previously we've fecked up under their tenure time and time again. We really can't afford to anymore but like I said we'll see. Actions not words.

You get it on here tbh. Tom Thorpe had numerous fans who were convinced he should get a run in the first team, by the age of 24 his career has gone Championship - League One - Indian Super League. He will be getting well paid in India no doubt but it was obvious he wasn't cut out to be a United player.

True - but in fairness Thorpe was as talented as many players who are doing fairly well in lower divisions. But he suffered some nasty injuries and it's not unlikely that it stopped his progress. So Thorpe could have done a lot better with a bit of luck

I disagree, the mentality isn't there, same with the likes of Daelhi and Larnell Cole.

These journos are a disgrace. If you dont have something meaningful to say, shut your fecking mouth.

Mention one midfielder as complete as Pogba in world football at the moment. Note, I did not say mention one midfielder better than Pogba (there are not many of those by the way). I mean a midfielder that combines almost in perfect balance physicality, technical skills and creativity. A midfielder that scores A in dribbling, passing, shooting, positioning and body strength.

Pogba is not over rated. He is under rated and that's probably because he is only just scratching the surface in terms of tapping into his full potential. Let's see how it goes in the next five years.

If this is true, then something is very wrong with our club. A solution to a need cannot be more obvious.
"United still haven't made a bid for Alexis Sanchez"

This is the truth, the facts ^

After that is his personal spin on it to get more views and interest, speculation.

It was more hope and bitterness after sterling left. But both players had similar attributes to start with: scary pace, directness and a general lack of a footballing brain. But yeah it's obvious now that Ibe didn't/doesn't have the faculties required.

Lots of posters pointing out my mistake will be the ones that were saying Welbeck had a higher ceiling than Sturridge despite even partisan fans knowing he was pony. Might have a look in that thread and bring it up later.

Keita, a promising young midfielder for almost the same price as a once in a generation midfielder like Pogba. He was definitely a bargain at that price; how did Mourinho predict it so accurately?
They* say that he has the defensive skills of Kante and the attacking skills of Pogba. If that's true, then he'll be worth every penny.

Incredibly petty.

Rodgers was given the backing too but he spent money on quantity that turned out to be dross or at the most average. It's been a good couple last transfer windows when we have tried to ship those out and bring in quality that can strengthen us.

As annoying as Rodgers is as a man, his signings weren't as bad as you made out, yes he had some duds, but half of them are integral to your current side.

Coutinho (left but has earned you serious coin)
Can
Lovren (shit but still playing regularly)
Joe Gomez
Lallana
Mignolet
Sturridge (part of the sas lauded so much)
Firmino (teeth)
Clyne
Milner

That core is a massive part of why Klopp has been able to build a better side, Klopp clearly had a better starting point than Rodgers who himself had to get rid of players like Downing, Kuyt, Charlie Adam, Jay Spearing, Andy Carroll etc, and let's face it, even with a better squad Klopp isn't even doing a better job than Rodgers?

Meh the more I read about this the less chance I think that Sanchez will be coming here.
Yea. City seem to have a plan here. Deal is done with the player - according to BBC website - admittedly speculation, but fits with their way of doing things. Agent might have different ideas though, and there lies the only sliver of hope for anyone wanting to see him join United. I don’t like him much, decent player, but...
