Ridiculous as it sounds £70m is now the new £30m it seems. Liverpool have done well as they got their man they wanted and Klopp will be delighted with VVD and Keita and now a large war chest for future signings since Coutinho moved. Yes they could have gone in cheaper if they waited but he most likely would have signed for someone else. Good deal all round now I hope he fails but think he will thrive.

I think the £30 million of yesterday is about £60 million now yeah. Puts some perspective on the price we paid for our signings this past summer. Matic is a steal at £40 million.

I think Matic Pogba Lukaku and Bailley somehow look like bargains now with Coutinho and the likes at £100m+

Considering Lindelof’s age, 30 million is not bad for a young talent. Certainly if it was during the Fergie era it would have cost around £15 million and it would be a decent buy. Started a bit slow but he is visibily improving. Bailly at 30 million is brilliant. We’ve done well in the market with Pogba, Lukaku and Matic as you’ve mentioned.

I would suggest that war chest has already helped pay for VVD and Keita as they knew Coutinho was on his way long ago.

Amazing how many people just won't get this into their heads.

Liverpool have now spent an unusually large amount of money since last summer. I'd be very surprised if that wasn't sanctioned due to knowing a big fee was coming for Coutinho. This is not to say they don't still have funds for further buys.

I've got an inkling that Keita may not turn out to be the megastar they're hoping. Maybe just wishful thinking mind.

And Sakho is leaving.

Moyes obviously wants to sell all his strikers.

Can kinda see why though Hernandez is a bit of a weird one. I think Sakho is actually ok as well when fit, and Ayew is a good player who is not really a striker and hasn't been in good form for some time.

We wanted Keita and VVD well before Barca came after Coutinho...
Also we have a net spend of -£34m or something ridiculous like that under Klopp which includes the VVD fee (which is amazing considering how much we have improved our squad with a negative net spend). As a top 8 richest club in the world I think it's fair to say we can afford a one off big splurge of £150m+, which is still nothing as an overall net spend under Klopp

You forgot to mention net spend there.

Keira looks tailored made for that style to be fair (high press and aggressive attacking with numbers) but I hope he bombs big time but more wishful thinking from me as he does look (style wise) suited to premiership also.

Not this net spend again but -34m would be impressive if true (I’m not sure either way)? But then did Klopp buy and then sell the players for profit? Has most of his sells not players he inherited then sold? As this is the argument with Jose and Pep and the bases in what they inherited were vastly different.

If Hernandez fancies being a backup striker for us again, I wouldn't be against signing him.

Wow...Di Marzio reporting it.

He’d be an excellent signing that can play through the middle or from the wings I’m amazed we wasn’t linked sooner he’s surely off to City.

Surely would have spoken to the player by now? Wouldn't just go in to Arsenal without an indication from the player he'd be interested.

Could also be a tactic, and the most likely outcome, to get City to pay up.

I know Di Marzio is very reliable but hard to believe this. Why would we go so late for him? Sounds more like arsenal trying to eke out money from city.

Getting Sanchez would be the single most greatest (and possible) transfer right now. It's all about money at this stage, although Man City will definitely offer him the chance to win a title in England for the first time. At United he will be the attacking start every game, at City he will often be rotated just like Sterling and Sane. It does make sense, although I am certain his heart is already set on a move.

Am I the only one that doesn't want him here? Unprofessional cock.

Two transfer tweets can change a window....
Dont think Pulisic is all that, but curious we are linked with a liverpool target and a done deal to City in last 20 mins or so.
