The only reason he'd join us over City is that he'd be a guaranteed starter. I can't see any other advantage, even if Arsenal might prefer to get a player out of the deal.

Yes we have a world class coach,we have lots of money, so do city, and right now city are high flying winning the league. Thats the difference. I dont think we can offer sanchez more than city. Surely they can match it. Hope we snag him mind you

I think he's more likely to want City (or specifically Pep). Arsenal with Mkhi involved would likely prefer us to sign him. Both clubs can match each other's wage offer technically. That being said, one might be more willing to stretch it than the other. We need him more tbh. Not getting too hyped but it's not quite impossible imo. Stranger things have happened.

Lucas wants PSG to lower their €40m valuation to facilitate a move to MU.

Agreed with the last part. Stranger things have happened. Would be amazing if we sniped him though.

World cup year. Possibly his last. He'll want to play (and earn) as much as he can with this last contract. Utd can throw money at him.

Normally I'll take Ozil over Sanchez because we badly need midfield re-enforcements and creative sparks in the middle when Pogba is out but I'll certainly be happy if we get Sanchez. Above all, I like how he gets upset when he's not winning. He sure has a fight in him.

Except when he's moping around the pitch because nothings coming off for him and he has decided to try to make it look like he wasn't bothered in the first place because he wants to move.

At the very least we are making it harder for City to buy him in January.

With all due respect to us... What would we offer Sanchez that he won't get at City. Sanchez would walk into a champion elect side With all the money in the world, and a world class coach. What could we offer him in January that city can't

The real question is what will we offer Sanchez AND Arsenal that they can't resist? Unless of course Sanchez is happy to wait till the Summer when he can walk into any team he wants. But about offers, you seem to underestimate the name 'Manchester United'. We may be many points behind City this season but United is still the big dog. Unless we have completely become a yesterday's team, the United brand will still be miles ahead of City. Fortunately, we can pay whatever they offer him if we are desperate enough. And then there is the small matter of Mikhitaryan who is still regarded by many as world class. Most people outside of United are convinced that his problem is Jose not his ability. He is going to swing an important deal for us. If it's not Sanchez, it might Pulisic or Perisic.

I don’t see the point in paying more for him now. He could play what, 15 league games and maybe some games in the FA Cup?

I’d rather we replace Coutinho now and use Keita to replace Can in the summer.
If you can find a replacement for Coutinho now then I dont see why this would be rushed...

But if Liverpool cant find someone or work a deal out in Jan, they might need someone to help in their push for the top 4.

Who are Liverpool looking at to replace Coutinho?

I hope you are right

That's it then, he is going to City. It's just a tactic to make it look like they have beaten us to his signature :(
That would be a terrible tactic! It might work for, say, the Neymar deal. “We wanted to pay £130 mil but PSG blew us out of the water with silly money”

If we say we’re in for Sánchez then it’ll be clear that we matched the price (which is ridiculously low in this inflated market due to his contract situation) and wages and can’t even say that he chose a better climate. It’s a tactic that would amount to Sánchez picking City over us which does not look good.

Better off to say we’re not interested and pursue other targets if our interest is not real.

Agreed. Arsenal would definitely prefer selling to us because they're getting a player Wenger rates highly in return. Instant replacement for them.

I’m just happy to see stories about the potential departure of Mkhitaryan.
