He's far better than the three of them and would make out squad a lot stronger.
Yes, ozil is a great player, i want him too but we all know his problem. He plays hot and cold. Something that miki did this 1.5 year. So ozil's player performance thread would be fun here.:D

Bit crap that we will most likely lose Fellaini on a free.

Belgium international, who will most likely start for them in the world cup.

Yeah, he's going to be a bit of a loss, always good having a weapon like Fellaini in our disposal. Thought he's always been particularly good in the big games, specifically Van Gaal era. Feels like he's been injured in most of Mourinho's. No resale value as well ffs.

Still don't understand ozil link. We have mikhi/mata/lingard for that position. If we are going to sell mikhi than ok but who will buy him now? And like i said many times- give mata a chance in that spot. He is not worse player than ozil

Lol

Not only that, I don't see why we shouldn't aim for the CL if we get two/three good additions this month, our defense and midfield are excellent. An AM in Ozil, an RW and an RB and I don't see a reason why we shouldn't aim for the CL. We have every chance to win it.

A midfield of Pogba Matic and Ozil would be one of the best in the world.

We have an excellent defense, with Jones and Bailly who'll come back soon, we have one of the best pairing in the world in the cb position. Young has been excellent in the LB position and Shaw is coming back, we just need a good RB.

And in attack, an RW would do wonder to our attacking play.

Can’t put all our eggs in one transfer basket this January. 3 signings would be limiting the top quality players we’d be able to get and means we’d be settling in terms of not spending on a big player(s) like we can in Summer when they become available.

Needs:
> quality #10/SS
> quality RW
> quality CM to play alongside Pogba
> starting LB or RB
> backup/rotational DM/CM who’s of starting calibre and not just a plug

...that’s bare minimum 4 first choice options and 1 backup needed. I’d be quite upset if we made 3 signings this month. Imo it’d just mean we’re rushing things for no apparent reason and choosing to settle for lesser quality players. This is also why I believe we aren’t after Mahrez since a Dybala/Griezmann could be had in the Summer who would be light years better + actual world class, game breaking talent.

For this January window, I’d be content with 1 or 2 signings at most. Preferably Ozil (#10) and a starting LB like Tierney or backup DM/CM which wouldn’t cost a us a whole lot, leaving the big signings for Summer.

And thats why we should avoid buying him now and get him on the free in summer. If he fails, its ok, he's free.

Mkhi hardly looks a footballer when he is cold, and he never been hot for us either.

Ozil is better in every aspect of the game, he pulls off passes Mkhi wouldn't even have the vision to notice.

2 hours before the confirmation of Coutinho, this muppet was saying Barcelona hope to get the deal done next week.

This means Mahrez will sign for Liverpool tomorrow.

We’ll see. I’d be tempted to side with Sky Sports on this occasion.

Exactly. This is a done deal IMO. Bein sports here in our Arab region is so reliable specially when it comes to Arabian players. We had to give it a try though, wonder why Jose didn't!
Maybe he wants Ozil?

Pretty sure he used to be reliable a few years ago, but don't know if things have changed since.
Not very.

Article looks like it was written by a 10 year old. Ozil is easily affordable because Rooney's no longer on the books? WTF?
Think he has sources at the club but it’s hard to say. He’s like John Cross with Arsenal.
Okay cheers! Difficult to know what to make of that article then. I'd also find it a little strange if Arsenal are quoting £25m for Sanchez and £35m for Ozil.

Ozil's been more important to Arsenal than Sanchez this season and we're a direct rival with Arsenal for a top four place whereas City are storming the league. Thats the only logic I can think of.

I've seen Ozil have bad games and it's nothing as bad as Mkh's bad games.

Ozil might go missing, get very few touches whereas Mkh gets loads of the ball but keeps losing it by over dribbling, terrible crosses & passes.

Yeah that's fair enough, but I think it's more a case of Arsenal only selling one of them in January and City are reportedly hot on the trail of Sanchez. I won't complain if we pick up Ozil on a free, but signing him in Jan could give us a massive boost in finishing 2nd and competing in the champions league.

£35m might seem alot but the player is worth what you'll pay for them. If we want to compete for the remaining trophies and have a chance to upgrade a weakness in our team with a world class player, then you jump at it with money bags.

Hopefully we're looking at a RW too. Mind you, apart from Mahrez, I cannot think of anyone off the top of my head that is available at a good price.

I think it will be Dybala, he's been excellent on right for Juventus, we are looking for it to upgrade and with Malcolm as alternative to Dybala in case if we are looking for a highly rated player in CM or go with Dybala and CM like Kovačić for around 25-40m.

After the summer and todays deal, Dybala will probably cost 150m.

Seriously.

Mkhi probably has more combined horrendous touches/passes this season than Ozil has in his fecking life.

Lemar will most likely replace Coutinho, as he can play, both on the wing and in centre midfield.

Lemar Firmino Salah
Keita Henderson Wijnaldum

Or

Mane Firmino Salah
Lemar Henderson Keita

A top class forward and holding midfielder, and that would be a very decent front six.

Would he be a player we should be interested in on a free?

That really sounds like Lazio is begging somebody outside Serie A to come with an offer, so they don´t lose him for free to a rival in Inter in the summer. I´m sure Lazio would be willing to sell for €20-25M, but do Liverpool have any interest. Is he an upgrade to Matip/Lovren/Klavan, who I rate pretty much at the same level?

Wouldn't mind getting him this window but £35m with 6 months left on his contract is a little too much.
Coutinho just went to Barca for 140 mil and you think 35 is too much? When we're talking about that kind of money, it shouldn't even be a factor. More the question is whether we want/need a cup tied player with a known suspect attitude.

I’d say now £35m is a fair price considering he can go anywhere in 6 months. Kind of like us getting RVP for £25 or so. I don’t think we’d sign him just to make a run in the FA Cup if he wasn’t cup tied and was able to play for us. The CL and cementing 2nd in the league would be our goal.

If Liverpool get Mahrez and Van Dijk in the Jan window, Ed Woodward and Mourinho don't deserve to be managing United since they haven't addressed our weaknesses. Liverpool were playing great football without Coutinho this season and if they were to go and get Mahrez, it would be a slap on our faces considering he's the player we actually need on the RW. I swear since SAF left, this club is going to the dogs.

Now breathe young one.
