For one, the transfer was almost two years ago now. They've both been good so far but can't really consider them 'bargains'.

That's not how it works. Shrewd business mean you know how to spend money even high price at the time as profit would be higher eventually.
One thing for sure, Perez is very competent business man. Spent like 200mil in one summer like a decade back and his investment has yield great profit for even until now.
You don't get angry at us selling Ronaldo at that price back then, but look back and see how shrewd business that for Madrid.

Assuming a player have «resell-value» til they are 33 Pogba will cost us £8,9m each year. Coutinho will cost Barcelona £18-19m. van Dijk will cost Liverpool £11,5m, almost 30 percent more than Pogba!
Even if you are not Pogba’s biggest fan that price seem cheap for a player that at the age of 23 had the following «merits»:
- a regular for a team winning four Serie A-titles during his time there,
- team of the year in Italy three times,
- 5th in Ballon d’Or in 2015
- UEFA team of the year in 2015
- regular for the runners up in the EC in 2016
- extremely marketable
van Dijk is 27 this year and has 67 games in the PL (the rest in Scottland and Eredivise) and 16 games for Holland. I’m sure he will have a better start for Liverpool than Pogba had for Man Utd, but the price for Pogba still seems cheap compared.
Fellaini on a free transfer is a decent pick up for any team as a squad option imo.
Sooo if barca are getting Coutinho, does that mean no one is challenging us for Griezmann? even then he still might not come here? who threatens us now for his signature?

He is not shite. Just that when you look at PSG, they're aiming for the very top and their model means the current coach may not be there next season. It doesn't sound convincing for DoF of PSG to go with Fellaini the way PSG build their style (technical, flair).
For example when PSG was mentioned being in for SMS, you tend to consider there is some smoke.

Excuse me, you're insulting Fellaini? I don't know where you get that impression from him. He's a one of best player of his generation (on the bench), he would walk into any team, United even want to keep him.
