Makes sense. Get Mahrez for 50M now. He is eligible for the Champions League and he knows the league, so won´t need any adjustment period. Then get Lemar in the summer.

Too many players in the same position. If Mahrez comes, I dont think they would go for Lemar.
They wouldn't sign both, it's a struggle enough for them to fit Coutinho, Mane, Firminho and Salah all in the same side (and play them all in their favoured positions) but how will they fit Mane, Lemar, Firminho, Salah and Mahrez in? And the crucial thing is playing them all in their favoured positions because Mane has been crap this season since Salah has taken his position on the right
It's not been a struggle at all. There are plenty games enough for all five.
You´d have Henderson, Wijnaldum, Keita, Lallana, Milner, AOC, Lemar, Mahrez, Salah, Mane, Firmino, Solanke for six positions. I don´t see how 12 players for six positions is an overload. Maybe a pure defensive midfielder would make more sense for squad balance, but that´s Klopp´s decision to make.
I also think Mane could move into the middle sometimes and rotate with Firmino, who has been irreplaceable in Klopp´s system so far.

It's all very well and good having 2 players for every position but the problem comes when there's more than 6 who will demand to play more often than not, players like Ox, Lallana, Wijnaldum you can probably appease but not the others especially at the fees they'll have cost to bring

Mahrez thrives on open space, don't know why most want him here when we play against packed defences most weeks.

It's getting into the position to use those skills against tight defences though. Something which so far he has proven to struggle against.

He's too creative and not enough workhorse. Sometimes i feel we are linked only for workhorses. And i really feel we need more creativity and game winners.

Alberto Aquilani as replacement for Xabi Alonso was a personal favourite.
Yeah, Kewell was highly rated back then. I remember some parts of the media had Liverpool as serious title favourites/contenders since they had gotten their final two missing pieces in the jigsaw in Kewell and Steve Finnan.

We should never let mahrez to liverpool. Hes too good to ignore. Adding mahrez to this current united squad will give more fluidity in our attacking.

Not sure where Mahrez would fit, Lemar makes sense as he can be earmarked for a role on the left side of a three and on the wing much like Phil but Mahrez is more of a creative winger I don't see him as an 8.
I can see the merit in both but it would have to be both this window.
