Is that one of your inside tracks à la Young?
He's very reliable, been quiet for a long time regarding United until now.How reliable is Ladyman recently ?

Ha!
Nah, my Sanchez post is just a hunch.
I remember a contact telling me that Young to United was done. I felt like ITK royalty when it actually happened for close to the transfer fee and wage mooted.
As it happens, a PR contact recently told me that Bale to United is nailed on for this summer, but that’s hardy a privileged rumour. Same guy told me that Real Madrid are exasperated with the player because he refuses to pack the golf in and that’s exacerbating his injury problems. Apparently he is pretty good (scratch) and won’t stop.
I sincerely hope your contact is wrong. A crock who relies on his physicality, whose physical attributes are beginning to dwindle is the last thing we’d need. Actually that sounds exactly like the sort of transfer we’d make.
It was a small snippet of info from a piece that he did on Mourinho and the United Hierarchy. He may be reliable but it’s not a claim that puts his neck massively on the block in terms of providing juicy details.

Well if the rumours are true his teammates hate him, this might be a 25M addition by subtraction and it´s obviously not fixable. Why turn down 50m in August only to sell for half that 5 months later?

No fecking bloody way that they will sell him for 25 when they are fighting for top 4.
If they do:
1) they are idiots
2) any big club should jump in that wagon. No matter what.
3) no way it is true

Look they had 60 mil offer i think 4 months ago. They decided not to sell. Obviously they had reasons for that. With him they can reach CL through league or europa league like us last season. CL will bring them at least 60 mil for next season. They are still in fight for that 4th place. Without him they don't have any chance. How much do you expect him to go for considering he’ll be available on a free in less than 6 months?
Arsenal should be glad to recoup £25M at this point if they’re able to get something done. Any team offering more than that would be the idiots tbh.
To have big release clause the player has to agree, which means convincing the player may be more expensive. Barcelona focus more on the super stars. Umtiti was signed not long ago but before the crazy current price hike so this release clause is reasonable with that context. Who would have thought the record for most expensive defender keeps getting broken in quick amount of time? (especially when you look at the talent, clearly not as good as older generation like Rio, Vidic, Terry...)Why are Barca so bad at release clauses?

So if they refused that 60 mil it would be really stupid sell him now for 25
I tend to agree but the problem is, how hard do you expect him to play for the next 4 months if he’s forced to stay? He could already have agreed a move to City by then, what’s his incentive to get Arsenal in to the CL? He’s already looked like he doesn’t give a shit as it is.
They were foolish not to take £60m for him in the summer, idiotic decision.
Laporte has one for around that price too, most of these deals were signed circa 2015 before a massive jump in prices. It's true for a lot of La Liga defenders. Why are Barca so bad at release clauses?
