Mike Mcgrath from the Sun saying we agreed an 80m deal for Milinkovic-Savic... No idea who he is and it's more then likely complete bull as obviously it's the Sun, so not bothering to link the tweet, but they tweeted it for anyone who wants to look.
Some of his stories from last summer:
  • Wayne Rooney left looking at China or USA move after Everton cool interest in bringing Man United forward back to Goodison Park
  • Fraizer Campbell is wanted by Huddersfield for their Premier League campaign after Crystal Palace contract expires (ended up at Hull City)
  • John Terry’s name on the lips of Manchester United stars as they discuss summer transfer targets
  • Claudio Ranieri is in contention to land vacant Crystal Palace job following Sam Allardyce’s exit (two weeks later, Ranieri ended up at Nantes and two weeks after that Palace appointed De Boer)
  • Birmingham boss Harry Redknapp bids to beat Everton in race for French starlet Junior Sambia (ended up at Montpellier two months later)
  • Aston Villa bid to pip Premier League sides to highly-rated France U19s starlet Abdoulaye Sissako (still at Auxere)
  • Emre Mor set for Liverpool loan move with Jurgen Klopp offered chance to land Turkish whizkid from former club Borussia Dortmund (instead went to Celta Vigo and has now pissed them off)
  • Gustavo Viera set for move to Premier League club… and he already plays for Liverpool (in Uruguay) (still at Uruguayan Liverpool)
  • Burnley’s Scott Arfield targeted by West Brom as Tony Pulis looks to bolster his midfield (stayed at Burnley)
  • Tottenham want Manchester United star Chris Smalling as Red Devils prepare to sell defender after Victor Lindelof deal
  • Coventry defender Jordan Turnbull in four-way-tussle with AFC Wimbledon, Walsall, Bradford and Charlton keen (ended up going to Northampton Town in winter)
  • Swansea to battle Huddersfield in race to seal £2million deal for Barnley full-back Andy Yiadom (stayed at Barnsley)
  • Chelsea and Liverpool in tug of war over £65million Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
  • Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho put on red alert over Bayern Munich star Renato Sanches
  • Newcastle battle Southampton and West Brom in three-way chase for Napoli star Allan (still at Napoli)
  • Chelsea keen on Renato Sanches as Antonio Conte enquires about Bayern Munich ace and Manchester United target
  • Huddersfield join race for £10million French winger Marcus Coco as Terriers continue to strengthen squad (didn't move)
  • Chelsea third-choice keeper Eduardo wants to leave Stamford Bridge to safeguard his World Cup place (still at Chelsea)
He does get the odd story right but gets a lot wrong too. United stories in bold.

Now that's a name I haven't heard in a while. Incredible how fast everyone's given up on him

Guess the difference is that since all that is put down to "speculation", and just "interest", then it's easy to make shit up and say it just never materialized but there was interest (which is fair, but also why it's safe to ignore). This one is straight up "agree 80m deal" (no trying to seal, or interested in, or whatever else) but obviously that big of a story would then be copied by everyone if there was any substance to it.

Steve Bates: Manchester United plot huge £80m Chelsea transfer swap of Willian-plus-cash for Anthony Martial.
United would want £40m cash from Chelsea as Mourinho values Martial at £80m in current market conditions, with Willian worth £40m.

If real this deal would be very tempting for Jose. Dont think Willian with his form and age at this moment will be worth anywhere near 40m however 20-25m is his right value. Then it means that Martial's price is 60-65m, quite high but that us taking risk selling a potential talent to rival. On the other hand, Willian is a proven RW in PL - one of main positions we must definitely upgrade this summer.

If the board doesnt intervene, Jose'll do it for sure given the fact that he never hide his admiration for Willian. I dont see Chelsea will actually make it though, unless Hazard leaves

I'm convinced Willian will be at OT next season. Mourinho's obsessed with him it seems. Would much rather we target someone younger but I do think he'd do a decent job for us.....Martial will be gone but I can't see it being to a rival.

So media have us losing Martial, Rashford, Pogba, Bailly, Shaw and De Gea, all in one summer? I wonder how many gullibles have clicked the numerous stories all made up about our players....
Also Blind, Fellaini, Darmian and Rojo. We'll need an entire new team by end of summer by the looks of things

So

Jorginho Keita

Seems a bit too attacking. Is Jorginho an actual defensive midfielder? I can't see Liverpool paying out the money for all of Fekir, Jorginho and Alisson (who they've been linked to) either. If they do make those signings and sign a centreback to partner Van Dijk, they'll have a first XI capable of challenging for the league. Their squad depth will still be shaky though.

Would their fullbacks be good enough?

Fekir is the player I wanted United to sign more than anyone. So this is fully expected.

He will be as good or better than Coutinho. That talented.

If they get Fekir, I don´t see another major investment for the midfield, except maybe Doucure for cover. They have Lallana, Fekir, AOC and Milner who can do a rotational job in the front three positions and will look to give Solanke, Woodburn and Brewster some minutes. They have Henderson, Milner, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Keita, AOC, Grujic(?) for midfield.

That is such a Jose Mourinho transfer that it wouldn't surprise me if it ends up happening.

Highly doubt they get Jorginho. Think he's going to City. But if Fekir news is true, then can see him effectively just slotting in for Chamberlain/Coutinho and Keita will replace Milner, then I'm guessing Chamberlain is the squad player whenever he is back. The way they play now is already top heavy and they lack depth, so it would solve the depth that while playing the same style pretty much.

Mane Firmino Salah
Fekir Henderson Keita
Robertson Trash Van Dijk Arnold
Trash

Still the same issues overall IMO. More depth in attack, still little depth or no proper defensive mids and center backs are meh. If they sign Allison alongside Keita and if the Fekir news is true, then I would start to be more worried. Still lacking a 2nd center back... but I do hate to admit that Klopp is assembling some very good players there.

That little Fekir better not end up at Liverpool.

I would rather get Hazard. He brings so much pace and speed to Chelsea. Willian is almost 30. Martial + 20m for Hazard. That way, Hazard and Lukaku can team up.

Sanchez - Lukaku - Hazard

That would be frightening.
