Can't say i've ever seen him play but I wouldn't like them to upgrade their keeper for obvious reasons, but anything would be an upgrade on their keepers though
They are one too goalkeeper and centre half away from being ready to win the league. All their players are at a good age too, so it’s not a case of one problem being solved then another reoccurring.
They are currently 18 points off City. They are more than a keeper and CB away from being able to win the league. Their midfield is very average, their full backs aren't very good. I know they have Keita coming in, and he's pretty good. But I'd be surprised if Salah has another wonder season like this, and if he does, he'll be off to a bigger club. Maybe famous last words, but I don't see them as realistic title challengers at any point in the forseeable future.
They have been ready to win the league for a long time, tbh. Just ready though, nothing more.
I think they are an entire midfield away. Also, though I don't doubt Salah's class, the odds of him maintaining or exceeding this season are minimal also.
I agree on all counts. I'd be surprised to see them win it in the next five years barring a City like investment.

pogba doesn't like not being top earner imo. Rumours of unhappiness and real wanting him are just what he needs for that bumper payrise.It was a great move for him, suits the Bundesliga nicely. Playing time and trust from a manager also helps.

I feel like the papers had written that Pogba story up ages ago. They probably just waited for a period in the season such as now, where Pogba has been dropped / not in form / we've lost successive games in order to make it somewhat believable.

What makes you so certain that Real Madrid have no interest? It seems plausible (big name and talent, Real were interested in the past, Modric will turn 33 later this year).

It has nothing to do with money. Jose has been playing him a lot deeper than he should be playing. He's not a 6.... he's an 8. Jose has been playing Matic and Pogba as 6's and a No. 10 in Lingard which does not work at all because it creates so much of a gap and Lingard is not talented enough to bridge that gap. We need to play a three man midfield with two 8's and a 6 which is Matic. We need another 8 to complement Pogba and release him. On the other side of the pitch, Sanchez, Lingard and Mata/ Martial are all attacking through the center and our Fullbacks aren't great crossers of the ball which means we lose width and Lukaku gets no service. It's not freaking rocket science. We can't' always blame the players when the tactics being employed can easily be nullified by the opposition manager. When you don't have the players to play a 4-2-3-1, then don't play that formation and move on and play to your strengths. It will keep the players happy as well as the fans and we might just play beautiful attacking and fluid football. It's frustrating to see City, Liverpool and Tottenham play this way.

That's absolute bullshit. Lingard as a No. 8 is a joke. A proper number No. 8 is a box-to-box player and Lingard occassionally helping out in defense does not mean he's playing a No. 8. How often did we find Pogba in Newcastle's penalty box? I feel insulted by Jose because he thinks we are all stupid.
