I wouldn't mind Kroos to play in Matic's position but I don't see Pogba, Kroos and Matic being a good midfield. We need a box-to-box midfielder on the right side of Pogba who has the energy to track back as well as surge forward. Fabinho would be my ideal player.

Pogba/Kroos/ Fabinho would be a good midfield.

That would work, definitely.

However, even if Kroos and Fabinho were available, I'm not sure we've got the space for two high-profile additions to midfield because Matic and Pogba are likely to remain starters for the foreseeable. A new #8 to start alongside those two, and a backup for Matic (a younger player, perhaps), seems more likely.

Absolutely no chance we get Kroos unless its for Big Dave. Fabinho would be a perfect fit for us and hasnt he worked with Jose before? If we got him it would definitely strengthen us and also annoy dickhead journos like Luckhurst.

Nah last summer him and a few others were mocking Di Marzio linking Fabinho to us after it didnt materialize. I think he is a legit target but it didnt happen last year for some reason. A lot of the brit journos were butthurt that Di Marzio and others on the continent were breaking transfers before him.

I was actually considering the possibility of him playing as a holding mid, in the form of a DLP, but I'm not sure if he's ever played there before, or if he has the defensive nous for it.
 
It's February. It's very rare for any story or tweet to have much weight at this time, I really wouldn't get invested in anything until April/May.

I agree that Madrid will want De Gea from us if we showed any interest in any of their players. I'm just being optimistic that Courtois leaves Chelsea for Madrid which would mean that Madrid would be fine selling some of their good players to refresh their squad. Although I'm a fan of Kroos but I don't think he's quick enough for the PL and he's approaching 30 as well. Honestly, if we got Fabinho and Milinkovic-Savic with Herrera, Matic and McTominay as backups, I think that would make us title contenders.

However, the thought of getting Isco from Madrid to play on the right side of our front three is also too good.

My midfield would be
Pogba ------- Milinkovic-Savic
------- Fabinho ---------------

But Fabinho at 30m is an absolute steal and we really need him.

Think Herrera’s days are numbered and given his output (likeable guy great pro aside) I really think we should be moving him on sooner than later.
Fabinho very intriguing signing but I’d prefer Dier but Fabinho would be much easier and cheaper alternative. But I also think we need another midfielder Pnajic (spelling poor) Jorginho or someone else who can add a bit control to our play would be superb. Or Jose could go the other way and add legs to aid the distances defensively for Pogba Lukaku and Matic.
With the type of players Jose has signed Matic Pogba Lukaku we will never be a pressing team like what’s in fashion just now.
We will drop and gather (Juve Milan had great success with this approach) so it’s not as all action but suits a certain type of player (big strong and powerful types) and when he gets a third midfielder right it will be much better going forward.
I honestly would buy another attacker in the summer with two midfielders if I had £200m. Ideally as I don’t know the market greatly I will pick fantasy players that may not be achievable but Dier (cb cm) Pnajic or Jorginho and not sure Griezmann buyout but I’d still love his movement here.

We gave Matic a 3 years contract, that should tell you how our club and Jose see him.

I think Jorginho is a good player but I don't know if he would function in a Jose style system. As for Griezmann, I really don't see any point in spending 89m on him considering we got Sanchez in here and his wages will be insane as well. If we could get Isco for a cut price for 65m, that would be really good in terms of attackers are concerned. Pjanic would be a great buy as well. I don't really rate Dier and I don't see him coming on the cheap.

Fabinho is a must though
 
Now that we have Sanchez, I can’t believe any disdain for Bale. He’s a top player. If we can manage his games and get him out here when we really need him - Bale and Sanchez in attack will slap the shit out of many a team.

Then again how often have we not heard the "if we had player x then we d be on another level" type of argument? Bale could be an interesting extra option to have for the right price but no way should we break the bank to get him in lieu of getting promising younger players.

The only acceptable deal for Bale would be something similar to what Bayern got for James. A one year loan with the option to buy for a reasonable price. Sure, we'll take a hit on his wages, but it's better if we can control the narrative one year down the line, instead of initially forking out a big amount to buy him permanently, and the transfer not working out for any reason.

Going to China at his age would be a tragic move for him, and also for his chances in the Belgian NT. Though I have noticed that Martinez keeps persisting with Witsel even though he's chilling in China now.
 


Lewandowski fired his consultant Kucharski -the one who always talked about Lewandowski moving to Real.

However, he is supposed to be replaced by Pini Zahavi, who's an even bigger shark.

I fear for Bayern that more is to come on this front.
