Transfer Tweets - 2016

I can't see why any Bayern players would want to leave and join City based purely on Pep going there, he'll have to go elsewhere to improve City which given Gundogan & Pogba are available he won't need to go far

Thiago can push all he wants. He's under contract until 2019. Bayern aren't the club to just roll over to player demands.

All of this is true, but no one can be sure what'd happen if it comes to a transfer request and it certainly isn't as impossible as you're making it out to be. That's my whole point.

Like they would give a shit about doing that.

They have a lot of money, but they don´t have unlimited funds. If Bayern wants to keep him, there is nothing City can do about it. At least not in 2016. Even if they get him for a very high fee: He is an injury-prone player, who hasn´t set the world on fire for the last three years. That is hardly the transfer strategy that anyone needs to fear.

Don't think City will be willing to pay anything for him. Very confident Bayern will keep him.

Didn't they spend £135M on 3 players last summer, all 3 of whom are currently injured.

I'd say he'd fit right in.

you are kind of proving my point. It didn´t work particularly well. Additionally last year was their highest spend ever, while they have spent a lot less in the 4 years before that. Also 9 important players are over 30, so they have a lot of work to do. Spending all their cash on 2-3 marquee signings doesn’t seem to be a viable strategy, especially when the player (Thiago) isn´t worth a crazy fee anyway.

City is linked with every Bayern player at the moment and I doubt that a single transfer between both clubs is going to happen next summer.

Jonas Hector told Eurosport that if Klopp calls him, he'd consider (a move).

He was shocking last season. How has he been this time around?
IMHO a mixed bag in the 1st half of the season (between brilliant, poor and everything in between; some stupid individual errors), since the winter break mostly brilliant with not a single poor or mediocre game.

Thanks.

Do Liverpool really need another leftback? Not seen how Moreno has done but before his injury Gomez was doing very well.
I wouldn't know. There have been rumors by BILD and also by an English untrustworthy source (Mirror? Don't remember.), and I thought that the player's response to this gossip rumors is a tad more interesting than just the itself.

It's not surprising that Klopp can be a pulling factor for young German players.

Moreno is pretty poor at left back. He tackles with the wrong foot and constantly gets caught too high up the pitch. It wouldn't surprise me to see us go for another full back but you're right that Gomez is a good option for next season.

Moreno is awful. LB must be pretty high up pool's list of priorities. Gomez is a right footed CB afaik, he won't be the long term answer there.

I wouldn't put it up there with the need for a new goal keeper or a midfielder. I think any left back we sign will be for a small fee around £5 million or there about if we do sign one at all. Brad Smith is another option. Every time I've seen him he's looked fairly solid. He has a pretty good delivery on him as well. It'd be nice to utilise one of the youth players to improve upon the starting eleven, a bit like United have at times.

The Nainggolan signing seems like a real possibility. Guardian are reporting it as well and and also saying Conte wants to keep Cuadrado.

Hummels' reaction in a live TV interview to the specific question on Chelsea was interesting. While he stated - as previously - that he's still torn between the wish to extend in Dortmund to lead the re-build of the team and his wish to experience life abroad - I don't buy it. I expect him to leave in the summer and am left under the impression he's torn between different destinations, with or without international football.

Moreno is poor. Quick but a sloppy, ill-disciplined and rash defender. Given a chance to nail down his place, he hasn't. And if it wasn't for Gomez's injury he'd have hardly played.

So judging by that, would you think the chelsea link is real, and he could well end up there?

Well Arsenal started with their campaign to calm their fans, those enraged ones that is. Doubt that transfer will happen.

Makes too much sense for an Arsenal transfer. Won't happen.

Where are the injured sixteen year old left backs form Norway? They are usually snapped up by Arsenal
