Sigh, Pilib posted that Joel Perriera's agent said that he's certain that DDG is leaving in the summer.

Not piggybacking off anything.

People are still holding grudges over his rants. The reason he was banned was because of those rants being posted here. It was then agreed that the rants not be posted as those are personal opinion but the transfer related tweets be posted here. He interviews a lot of guests connected to United and he does have some sources of his own it seems. He managed to interview Woodward after all didn't he?

I agree with you and honestly the guy doesn't post bullshit, his thoughts (not just rants but transfer thoughts as well) and information he gets from sources are clearly defined and marked differently. No point getting into it in the twitter thread though.

I am actually not worried about losing De Gea. Sure, it sucks to lose one of the best GKs in the world, especially given his age. We could however use the funds and finance resources we need more, whose absence has made De Gea invaluable.
That would be fine if we were getting a big fee for him. We'll be lucky to get over £25m though I think, which buys you one good/decent outfield player (not world class).

Still, the point is still valid. De Gea is great, but his value is overstated due to us lacking quality in other areas. Big fee or not, we will surely correct those lackings soon which makes the quality of the keeper a little less important.

You have clearly forgotten the years we had very good teams and dodgey keepers!

I am a big advocate of statistics. They show we have committed ridiculous amounts of errors this year, many of which De Gea has saves us from. We will have much fewer errors next season, hopefully due to new defenders but also because we will be more accustomed to the "LvG philosophy".

I agree, but also the keeper is a big part of that philosophy (since we want to play out from the back), and if we have dodgey keeper, it also unsettles the defence, which would bring us back to square 1

Cannot disagree with that, however, I am sure we won't get a dodgy keeper to replace him. For starters, we already have Valdez who isn't dodgy by any means.

Funds we get for De Gea won't be enough to finance a transfer for another keeper.

If we don't get Pogba, him going to PSG is the best scenario for us. Miles better than City,Barca,Real,Chelsea getting him as I can't really see PSG winning the Champions League.

When I used to listen to TalkSport, I found Goldstein quite funny, however, when it comes to him breaking stories, not a chance.

Why if I may ask? I think Veratti is reaching a higher level at the moment, and has as much potential. You'd never find such a chance to replace Carrick/Scholes again either.
Absolutely, but I think on a technical level there's not much to choose between them whereas with Pogba you get his athleticism as well which I think would be a massive plus when transitioning to the PL. Like you said Veratti would be the perfect Carrick replacement playing that quarterback role but I feel there are alternatives, so for instance I'd rather have Schneirderlin (#6) and Pogba.

EDIT: Obviously I'd rather have Veratti (#6) and Pogba in an ideal world.

Well that's fair enough, cant disagree with that.

Valdes played for the greatest version of our philosophy. I'd sell Dave and use him. use the money for other players.

Lol! No way in hell have we signed Kane without Levy attenpting to make it a public bidding war.. Total BS story
£40mil is a ridiculous amount for him though, maybe even levy thought there would be no way of getting more than that from anywhere else.

Hopefully it is bullshit though.

Yeah, I just don't know how he will handle the EPL, crosses coming in left right and center etc, seemed to struggle at corners the times Barca played Chelsea

Kane (and his agent) must fancy the idea of Champions League football next year. You always have a ceiling playing for Spurs. If Kane is as good as they say he is, he better try and force a move to us if its there.

well, because ours is nowhere near that version, the GK should be expected to handle much more work than the relaxation playing for Catalans

Can't see anything on the website. Please stop posting tweets like that unless you're able to find the source article too. Fan accounts aren't the most reliable.

Normally that's followed by a denial that he's even for sale :nervous:
