No chance we'd go for Begovic I don't think, his distribution is terrible.

Solid enough though otherwise, but not quite good enough for us. I actually think he'd be a good buy for Arsenal though.

I hope unlike last summer our spending is better planned and not just haphazard throwing the money around. Buy Bale if he becomes available but only if you are sure that he has a role in what you plan to do, don't just buy players for crazy money and then try to fit them into vague roles

Tomorrow someone will spin it as him dropping the agent because the deal wasn't done yet.

That seems like bollocks to be honest, he scores goals coming inside as any wide-forward, don't understand why LvG would see it differently.

I tend to agree with you, but it is worth remembering that Bale had his best season at Spurs playing wide left and behind the striker.

Yeah, but he has scored most of his goals at Madrid from a starting position as a right-winger, he is an attacker in general, put him on the left, right, behind the striker etc and he will score goals.

This Di Marzio guys seems to link every player in the world to every club in the world. And somehow maintains this reputation of being reliable..

Translation:
In England , they say that Antoine Griezmann is about to close his move to José Mourinho's Chelsea.

I haven't seen much of Clyne and my opinion on him is probably heavily influenced by RedCafe, but I'm unconcerned if he has decided to remain with Southampton.

As for Bale, hope we don't go for him either...

Yeah. I'd say Bale's (and Robben's and Cristiano's and some others) position can, in many tactical situations, just be thought of as the 2nd most attacking attacking player.

1. They aren't really going to track back much and you want them in dangerous positions on the counter instead of doing that and having to beat multiple players anyways.
2. Ideally, you don't want them to have to go through 2 CB's, so you typically have a 9 to occupy those guys or a false 9 to help with the creative burden.
3. If they play centrally as the kind of 10 Griezmann was this year, your 2 wide players have to be a bit more defensively responsible.

Cavani may have had a few bad games in Europe but he is ridiculously underrated on redcafe

He's clumsy and often looks terrible but he consistently scores a lot of goals and works like a dog. In a more logical world, he'd be Atletico's 9 and Mandzukic would be at Wolfsburg, Juventus, Liverpool or whatever.
