Awful?? A brilliant player who is only 22 years old, not currently having the best of times but has still scored 15 goals for Bayern this season. Basically scores double figures every season and gets almost 1 in every 3 Germany games (including a world cup final winner). Yep awful.
The underrating of Gotze on this forum is almost criminal.
He certainly isn't awful, though I do believe there are better options. Considering how injury prone he is, the Premier League might not be the best league for him to join either. I could see him struggling with the pace and physicality of the league when he plays, as well as being injured for much of the season were he to join.

Yep, it's 50 million euros, but with the Euro being so weak that's still only 35 million pounds.
However I haven't watched much of him tbh. Can anyone who watches him regularly tell me, is he worth that much?
Otamendi is excellent (or has been for a year and half now) I would be happy for us to get him, I'd honestly prefer him to Hummels as our "marquee" CB signing this summer.
Does/can he play LCB, though? Smalling is and should be RCB, I don't want to see him replaced.

Otamendi plays as a LCB next to Mustafi. imo hes one of the the best 1v1 cbs in the world right now. But hes not exactly great at passing the ball.

Regarding Otamendi - Hasn't Valencia confirmed to have received a bid from us during the winter transfer window? Strong indication we will go for him again now I would assume? Unless he experienced a major dip in form.
