Do we reckon Jason Burt has a point or is it interest bait to drive traffic to the Telegraph because the Depay news is done and they need filler?

TBH I think he has a point, if Pogba is on the move this summer why would we not be in for him?
However I don't think he really is coming from the point of having any real information, I think he is just putting 2 and 2 together and stating the obvious.

I don't think he'll be sold, but I don't think his place is exactly guaranteed anymore (as a 9) maybe he'll play as a 10, infact I think him playing as a 10 next season is more likely.
Having listened to what LVG has said this season, he's already said Rooneys selection as a 9 isn't guaranteed, also Falcao and RVP have played a lot when available this season.
Add to that the fact he has gone on record to say we don't have a 20 goal a season striker, I think he'll make a purchase there.

My line of thinking too

But how could this Burt guy know that Van Gaal would like to play Pogba as a Carrick replacement rather than a Fellaini replacement? I don't believe you.gif

Griezmman is basically a striker these days at Atletico too and can play wide as well as we know.

Surprised we haven't been linked with him yet.

He apparently has a 65m€ clause, that's maybe why we are not linked with him.

Lacazette is only 23???? For some strange reason I thought he was in his late 20's. Massive potential if that's the case, buy the bastard !

Its because he's been around since he was 17/18.

I don't understand why we are being linked with strikers who would be starters.

Rooney is a starter. RvP has started every single game he has been fit to start. Falcao is still not certain to leave. That's 3 strikers for one position already. Not sure how another helps us.

Even if Rooney was our only stiker, I would expect any other striker signed to just be rotation.

Van Persie is 57 years old, Falcao needs a wheelchair to get around and Wilson is not ready.
We need a new striker.

Amuses me how people think swap deals are still a thing. When have that ever happened? Hell, I never even managed to pull one off in Football Manager. Maybe there is a loan involved at best, but transfer for transfer? Unlikely.

Ibrahimovic-Eto'o. Only Italians do things like that.

Tielemans? See, this is the kind of gossip I like, backed by facts. At least I hope it is.
Scouting Brugge more than Anderlecht. Probably watching Obbi Oulare, 18 year old unit of a striker.

Who do you think we're watching?

According to rumours and the games Utd attended, it seems like they're keeping an eye on Obbi Oulare.
Certainly won't be for the near future, but he's the kind of striker top teams are always interested in (Tall, strong, quick and good vision).
Thomas Meunier (right back) is another one that could really interest Utd, but he was injured the last few games they scouted Club Brugge, so I guess he won't be the primary target.

They'll keep an eye on Anderlecht's Tielemans as well probably. I just hope the Mitrovic-rumours are only rumours

Ah, the pointless currency switch so that something is three figures

I see, thanks.

Hasn't Pep said he'd like to manage a club with history and tradition? Surely that wipes City out of the equation

From Barcelona to Munich to City.. where next for Pep? Bolton?

I can't see him stepping down from Munich to take over at City unless he were to get the sack which I don't see happening after winning the league title again.

I think he sees his next challenge to be in the premier league, van gaal, mourinho and wenger are safe for now, city maybe a step down in term of stature but in terms of challenging for titles they'll be up there.

I'd be amazed if he were a) to leave Bayern without being pushed which would make no sense, b) for him to end up at City, I think Pep wants to continue managing in the highest class of clubs, City aren't even in the second tier.

That scoutlist bothers me more then it makes me happy.

There is not 1 top club on that list beside united.

If there would be a real talent there it would be swarmed with top clubs.

But the rest are smart enough to stay away from average.
