Absolutely. Generally a goalkeeper shouldn't be relied upon as heavily as we have with DDG, especially if you are a side with title ambitions. You want someone who can make 3 or 4 stops in a game when your defence is bossing the rest of the game. If we have a general in defence you would hope that DDG or his potential replacement wont be required to make so many saves.

Ironically we only conceded 4 goals more then a Real Madrid, not bad if you think about the changes we made in the backline in comparison to the settled defense of Madrid. One could argue that you can not compare statistics regarding different competition due to different style of player, the level of the competition etc etc.

I did read NL Max's posts, but we would end having too many wingers. I can see Adnan going on loan, but it would leave us with Young, ADM and Mata. I would assume Depay would be keen to get a lot of minutes.

Mata is not a winger and whilst Young is having a good season, he'd be back up to the likes of Bale, Depay and AdM. If Adnan goes on loan we'd only have 4 proper wingers assuming we get both Bale and Depay.

Also, I don't think it's impossible for Real to let Bale go this summer. They might want to cash in on him to ensure they have enough funds to plug other more urgent holes in their team with a transfer ban looming

Imo Lloris would only be a decent contingency, if we build a solid back 4 in front of him. De Gea won us points on his own this season, when our back 4 has been shakey.

Meanwhile Lloris will be like having an open goal who will not win us points? Have you looked into how many points Lloris has won his own team? If De Gea leaves he would be a very good option, although it will mean a summer of doing the tango with Levy.

Before some idiot posts it, Joshua Mjelde doesn't exist and we haven't signed him, it's a wind-up.

Twitter never ceases to amaze

If we managed to sign Lloris and Bale as a result of selling de Gea it'd be pretty impressive as we'd actually improve as a squad because we'd sold our best player.

I'm warming to the idea.

It's encouraging we're being linked with GK replacements. I rate Valdes but to rely on him off the back of a huge injury, I'd be concerned. Lloris would be a fantastic proven replacement who fits in with Van Gaals transfer strategy here so far. He seems to he buying for now mostly, which is expected from a man with a 3 year contract.

There are younger alternatives to Lloris like Leno but I think Van Gaal would go for the experienced option in this case and he wouldn't be wrong.

At 28 Lloris would be a long term purchase, while being a recruit for the 'now'. Well at least I consider 5 years as long term.

I would have Cech as number one target

But Lloris would be number 2 as he hits the right boxes having played in the prem, good with his feet and fast off his line.

Lloris isn't in De Gea's class but, as actual human GK's go, he's certainly good enough.

If selling De Gea also helps us get Bale on top of that then suddenly the whole scenario isn't quite so bleak.

We'd be spending a net fortune over that deal though....

Translation:
-What's the current situation with Andreas Pereira? Do PSV still want him?

-They would like to get him, but they haven't got a big chance.

We would be mad to sell him for that much. £55 million would be the correct value. After his no so great season, PSG wouldn't pay more than we paid or the same amount we paid for him, but 45 million! No Way. His value has dropped by £15million in one season. If we do get one of Verrati, Rabiot, Marquinhos or Lucas that would be a great deal.

Replacing Di Maria with Lucas fecking Moura would be a great deal? No matter how much money involved i don't want to see him anywhere United. Rabiot is also a bit meh.

Verrati on the other hand is a real gem of a player, but still i want to see what ADM can do for us next year after settling in. Personally i think he will improve big time.

PSG determined to get ADM for £45 million

If LvG doesn't plan to play him in the hybrid CM/Winger role he had last year at Real, this wouldn't be such a bad deal. I don't think he is a £60m winger, and besides that he doesn't seem to fit into LvG's system.
It would be a massive feck up from us though if we can't get him working here, but it's all just speculation, he is still here.
