If we don't move our asses and speak to him and table a bid he'll probably go elsewhere pretty soon. He's attracted interest from a few clubs by the looks of it so we'll need to step in quickly.
We'll probably be led a merry dance by Bale and his agent while we dither on the realistic target, Memphis.

I'd be suprised if we haven't spoken with him, his agent already (even if he is a backup target)
Of course, since we haven't tabled a bid to PSV and so haven't got permission to speak with him, then all would be denied.

Table the fecking bid then. I hope it's not one of the Summers where we spend 3 months 'preparing the bid'.

@SanBorussia

Klopp about Gündogan: "It's normal that players get linked with other clubs, especially here. It doesn't interrupt our focus on the game."

I'm sure we are aware of this, it's surely not a new concept in terms of transfer negotiation. If we don't follow up on the interest, my guess is that we are prioritising other options.

would you guess another option in that position or do you mean other positions that are deemed more necessary like CB and CM?

I'm not convinced we are going to get Gundogan but isn't this quote quite telling?, i mean why would he mention Gudogan being linked if it was total bullshit?, surely he would just say something like "there is nothing in that" etc.

I was thinking more in the same position. We would have options based on various scenarios - being unable to get one player, Depay doing his cruciate on the last day of the season, sudden bout of Madrid dreams etc.

He may or may not be first-choice wing target, but he certainly won't be the only.

Maybe if we dont get bale we go for depay, if we dont get pogba we go for gundogan...who knows?

Perhaps. Order of contact doesn't even mean order of preference. Some deals (like Bale, for instance) may be very complex and it may be easier to first meet with Depay and guage his interest first. In the last two summers, we probably had spoken to Fellaini and Blind long before we signed them, especially considering both were done quite late although everyone expected it to happen.

Having said all that I am of the opinion that we have already signed Depay and Hummels....and Gundogan is in the works.
Pre injury Gundogan was my #1 CM target after Modric, but now Veratti would do just as well.

If Gundogan recovers his form of 2 years ago and clicks with Herrera in the CM we could challenge anyone.

It is highly unlikely we have signed Depay, only for him to be on a tour of discussions with other top European clubs as a PR exercise. Anyway, tentative agreements may be in place, but the seasons are still on-going - there will be contingency against Depay or Hummels doing their cruciate on final day.

As for midfield, personal preference is Pogba over everyone. After that, not sure I care too much, most of the other names mentioned don't seem significantly better than the other. Pogba is the one who will transform us I think.

I still think due to the relationship LVG has with Depay, if we want him we got him. The only reason we would stall on him is if someone like Reus or Bale became available....either way I am not worried, we will be covered in that department.

I believe Hummels has verbally agreed weeks ago.

I agree Pogba would be my #1 midfield target, but I dont see how he brings balance to the midfield, I would think we need someone who is a bit more defensive minded like a schneiderlin or Nainggolan.

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that the future of midfielder Ikay Gundogan will be resolved imminently. #MUFC

Ilkay Gundogan hasn't received a contract offer from BVB but when he does, it is expected that he will reject it. [Kicker] #MUFC

@DeadlineDayLive: Arsenal could make a last ditch attempt at luring Manchester United target İlkay Gündoğan to the Emirates. (Source: BILD)

I know these are not decent sources but if anything they could be interesting for someone.
Not saying you shouldn't posted them and they are a good time killer. But there's really no truth to them(Gündoğan rumour posted by ManUtdUpdates earlier was completely made up)it's not different than posting a random fans opinion.

It should be a rule around here that if you're going to quote these round-up accounts that say (source: kicker) or (source: BILD) you should actually go and find the source before posting it, because otherwise it's just noise, and probably made-up noise.

Tension rising in here already and it's not even May. Lawlzies.

Like I said a few pages or so ago, stop posting stuff by the various United fan accounts as more often than not they end up being full of crap. Find the original source (if there's any stated) and post the tweet from there here instead.

Systems, Shmystems - if a player like Pogba is available, he should be purchased in my view. Even if that means not getting a more defensive-minded midfielder, we'd still likely be better off having Pogba being supported defensively by Blind than we would be with Herrera being supported by Schneiderlein.

FWIW, I checked Bild and the Bild Dortmund account, and Sports Witness, and none of them mention the Arsenal interest.

I agree when a player like Pogba, Neymar or Bale becomes available you find a place for them.
If LVG feels that Pogba will upset the balance, then he should just buy a schneiderlin/wayama type too.

If Inter Milan can afford him then surely we can blow them out the water? He looks like a massive talent.

Maybe the club are looking at Harry Kane though :)
Everything I read about him suggests that he's considered a special talent. Inter and Juve seem to be the ones with a shot.

Yep, lots of people saying he is very similar to Suarez and Aguero the way he runs channels and links up play.

I though the Palermo President said he is not going for less than €40million, how on earth are Inter going to pay that?

Is there a reason we arent looking at him?
Is it because Rooney will occupy the ST position and Dybala will not sit on the bench?

Dybala looks like the business.

He said his dream is to play for Juve or Barcelona.
