Those comments from LvG regarding Falcao are hopefully bogus, I mean it's surely a sub striker he's looking for, not a starting one.

What's the point of having a release clause if you have to win a court case to trigger it? And what's the point of having a 'release' clause that only says the club will 'listen' to an offer? This makes no sense to me.

It was just a way of keeping Suarez happy essentially wasn't it? There wasn't any real point to it, it was just poor work from the agent to not spot it.

Per today 27/4 at 22:15 and if nothing changes, De Gea will be the next Real Madrid keeper, about €25m, 6 year contract.

But but but....I thought we were going to get £50 million!

In the unlikely event there's any truth in that, I'd prefer to lose him on a free next summer.

Similar situation to the Kroos one Bayern found themselves in last year, he was worth £40 m +, but if he won't sign then you've gotta take what you can get, especially if there's only one club in the running.

25 million euro  Wouldn't surprise me given his contract situation but fecking hell.

Am I reading it right, that that guy doesn't think de Gea is a top five keeper?

If you read the replies, you see most Real Madrid fans talking about De Gea like some fallback option because others are not available.

I've said this before, I'd rather keep him for one more season then sell him for feck all.

Its going to a right kick in the teeth when Madrid take him, and half the Madrid fan base don't want him!

€25 is probably all we're going to get. We're really not in any position to call the shots, if he is to leave.

Yup, looks like a massive WUM to me tbh ..

Looking through his replies and earlier conversations, seems like loads of the Real Madrid fans tweeting him has doubts over De Gea and seem certain that Leno is a better goalkeeper already.
Man they don't deserve a keeper of Daves quality..

Yeah it's ridiculous.

1.Buy young unproven keeper for £18m
2. Develop him into wordclass keeper
3. Sell for £17.8m
4. Profit???

Porto got €31.5m for Danilo with a year left on his deal less than a month ago.
De Gea is more valuable and a "statement signing" if we want to squeeze the lemon and get a higher fee, we'll be able to without a doubt.
And after all, what's the worst case scenario? They back out, we'll keep him for another year and he'll leave on a free? Surely we'd be able to cope with that and we'd have a solid GK option for another year.

Would also leave the opportunity open that Real decides to go with another keeper because they want a new one in and integrate him into the side "slowly" over the next year.

Amazingly, £17.8 million would make this the 4th most expensive goalkeeper transfer in history.

And in euros it would be the second most expensive. Damn exchange rates.

Its quite incredible just how low price for keepers are. As a former keeper myself, I find it an insult.

Just going to throw this on here, as someone will question the source.

Even if it appears to be low, I find it quite plausible. 25m euros for a Spanish goalkeeper from Madrid, who wants out and is on his last year of contract. Our only other option would be to lose him for free next year.

It should be through the roof to be honest. You can't really play anyone else as a makeshift 'keeper if need be.

I was hoping we'd get a Buffon type return on investment considering we're selling one of the top keepers just before he hits his prime.

I'd rather we keep him for a year longer and let him go for free than sell him for 17.8mill this season.

If De Gea is leaving then we better ask for close to 50 million...........let us be the ones to have the big asking price for a change.

P.s this guy has got stuff wrong before, he's definitely not a solid ITK

Also though f*ck selling De Gea for 25 Mil Euros, I would rather we had him another year and if he wants to leave on a free so be it but thats just an embarrassing price especially to such a wealthy club like Madrid who pay silly money for mediocre dross, partly our fault but the least the guy can do is/was signed a new 4 year extension and if Madrid really wanted him they would of had to pay £40-£50 Million for potentially The Best if not future Best keeper in the world, thanks to our coaching.
