Nothing concrete here. First they are quoting the Daily Mirror story with that supposed offer from us, just to deny if afterwards.

Here the part with the most information.

BILD knows: An official enquiry hasn't been received by Dortmund, but the interest from Louis van Gaal is taken seriously at the Dortmund office. A transfer during the winter break is impossible, but a multi million deal during the summer could be a different scenario. If Dortmund fail to reach the international competitions at the end of the season, the German international could think about a change. For 47 million Euros the BVB could overthink their stance too ...

In an interview with BILD at the end of 2014 Hummels said: "Of course the Champions League is often an important argument.

In my eyes just a story to generate some clicks. No bid lodged, a quote from Hummels probably taken out of context and some assumptions. The only thing that's written in stone is, that he won't leave Dortmund in January.

I thought he was from Coronation Street.

Reg Holdsworth is Corrie and Reg Hollis is from The Bill.

Back to transfers would love to see us sign Hummels, Strootman and De Gea on a new deal come the 31st Jan, all announced on SSN by Natalie Sawyer in her usual bubstastic yellow dress, and a couple of Stoke fans sticking a vibrator up Jim White's nose.

Really don't want Coleman, especially at the prices quoted. Varane would be my perfect defensive signing through

feck you Bayern.

Well this has escalated....

EDIT - Fake account. Damn you RTs.

Apologies.

Posting a tweet confirming the Coleman signing with Ched Evans as the avatar, is that the biggest fail ever in this thread?

He changed the avatar and the twitter handle after it was posted in here. Originally it was set up to look exactly like Kevin Palmer but with an s at the end of the account name at the time.

Would much prefer to go for De Sciglio than Clyne or Coleman if we are to go for a right back. He's only 22, looks a class act every time I've seen him play and provides cover on both sides.

This is what Milan fans think of him:

Got sent off today as well after a second yellow in the first half.

I would prefer we buy players that LVG has identified frankly.

The last players he frankly identified for a club were Pranjic and Braafheid, Van gaal is not to be trusted on the market, our scouts are much better.

So one Milan fan speaks for them all?

Well I could quote 100 other fans but he's been disappointing for over a year now. He has a big name but Darmian from Torino for instance has a much brighter future ahead of him.

We should bring in a centre back in first. I don't know if Varane is available but if he is we would be bonkers to not go after him. Jones and Smalling can still cover for right back.

No, not under Van Gaal.

Instead of will bid, preparing a bid, etc. Can we not just actually do it and see what they say?

First Keane and now Johnstone.. 2 youngsters that looked like very good prospects leaving this month.. what a bummer

I remember journalist Jim White (not the white haired bloke off Sky) did an interview with United We Stand podcast last April and said if Van Gaal took over we'd probably turn into one of those sides who would spend rather than develop. Time will tell, I suppose.

We've clearly done both

if he had a six year contract we'd likely not spend as much as we have done but the mandate is clear from the board, top 4 this season and league challengers next season. So he has very few options but to spend. Atleast with him spending you'd likely not see the kind of indiscretion you saw from Fergie in his later years or Moyes' panic buys. He'll buy and leave us with a more balanced squad.
