Benteke over Bony? Really? It's like taking Vardy over Falcao

Eh you've misunderstood me I didnt say it wasn't a good deal for Swansea of course it is but a good deal for city? 30 million is a joke for a player like bony.

All I was saying benteke is a much better striker than bony. Benteke Is faster, stronger, can run with the ball better and is a better finisher. Bony is clumsy and has the movement of a tree he loses the ball quite often and he had a lazy attitude

I'd actually happily take Reid from West Ham. He's kind of like the middle ground between a quick fix and a big step in the right direction. He probably wouldn't be in the starting 11 of the team we aspire to have, but he'd definitely be in the squad over our current crop.

I'd love Clyne, would happily take Coleman though.

Am I right that Ed Woodward said a few weeks ago that we wouldn't be buying in January because we're not looking for any quick fixes and its unlikely anyone we want is available this month? I haven't really given transfers a second thought since that.

I get what you're saying but you're way overboard. It's all a matter of opinion but I think Bony is a cut above Benteke at this moment in time. He appears lethargic in his movements but actually works very hard and is quick, definitely quicker in his acceleration. His strength is at least on par with Benteke and IMO he's much better on the ball - he's especially good under pressure and in tight situations. He's a better finisher than Benteke, of that there is no question.

I know it's City and its easy to criticise but let's get real. 30 mil is at worst decent money and at best a good price for Bony in January when you're level at the top of the league and in desperate need of s striker (they have been playing Milner as a false nine FFS). Smart business from the Berties.

He's not bad as far as journalists go but he was one of the one's convinced we were signing Vidal in the summer.
tbf virtually everyone with a good track record was suggesting he was on the way

i'm sure we backed off because of injury concerns, not because there was never any real interest

Miguel Delaney. Now i'm confused why did he delete it as it was just an answer to some guy's question.
He's been saying on his Twitter that people have taken it the wrong way. That's his opinion and people are taking it as a United leak.

Yes he did say that but let's Be honest our defence I'd going to cosy us top 4 at this rate. Signings are a MUST this window even if it is quick fixes like Reid or vlaar

Quick fixes? Then what do we do in the summer? Sell them?

We should acheive top 4 this season even if we don't sign a defender. I'd rather wait until the summer and get the quality we should be looking at it.

Our defence is the third best in the division having been decimated by injury for the entire campaign. We've conceded only one more than Chelsea, for example.

Our attacking play, or lack of it, is a much bigger issue at the moment. We don't score that many goals and don't look anywhere near as creative as our names on paper suggest we should. There is no quick fix, primarily because the aforementioned players are no better than what we already have, especially when scrutinised like a United player should be.

Yup. And I think many would agree if I were to say our players have more than enough talent as individuals, there's just a lack of cohesion and chemistry due to them being constantly being injured at different times. For instance, comparing to some of the other defenders at big sides, say Cahill, I do not see him as much of a better defender than Smalling. If at all, personally.

Which is why I think a defensive signing or two will be made, predominantly with the ability to play the whole season, rather than upgrading in abilities.

It's not as black and white as that though. We were leaking goals left right and centre in our first 10 games. We let in 14 goals during those games and then in our next 10 games we have let in 6.

Our attacking play has been sacrificed in order to sure up our defence and until we sort it out properly it will continue to suffer. At the moment we play with the extra man in defence, if we can sign another right back, hopefully a centreback and the rest of them stay fit, Blackett and McNair can have a couple more years developing at the right level for them and we can play with an extra midfielder and actually dominate games with attacking football again.
