I'm not sure what exactly he is going for since he has Hazard there and nominated Di María earlier. Drogba also seems picked for a solo line-leading role.

You wouldn't play a 4-3-3 with Pirlo behind Gattuso and, say, De Rossi, would you? Great in a diamond, but you really would want the two CMs to offer more in that vacant space in the middle with a 4-3-3.

So yeah, if he is going 4-3-3 VivaJ is right that they certainly will miss Seedorf.

You put in your bid of 30m for Rooney back in the pool. If it stays there for 24 hours without any raise, it would prove no one was going to raise him and you will get him,

I suggest you put him back on as an inverse draft going down 1M every couple of hours. Whoever strikes first gets him. Would need to allow time for people to be aware and in agreement.

:lol: Trust you anto to come up with a complicated way of solving this albeit more interesting. The only reason for that disparity is stob raising it by 10m before retiring but again I dont mind implementing this either.

If no one else values him over 30M then MJJ gets him at 30M even if he values him at 36M.

With an inverse draft at 36M he would be fretting over someone else closing the deal. At 35M he has saved a million and is starting to worry a bit. 34M come on man, we've done well here, let's close it... So on.

So long as people's valuations are unknown an inverse draft weeds out the higher valuations and strike prices.

It's statistically proven and actually quite intuitive.

Imagine you started with Ronaldinho at 100M and dropping 1M every ten minutes, at which point would you step in to ensure you got him? Certainly higher than 70M. At 70M you knew if raised you could raise again, in an inverse draft whoever steps in gets the chap, no chance to react after.

I told you earlier, I'm sticking around here to see how all you fellas interact with auction and various negotiating mechanisms. Reverse auctions are worth a pop, surely.
 
Same mechanism can be used by someone putting someone up for sale and having 2-3 interested managers. Start high and drop a million at a time, whoever posts DEAL first gets him.

Not really. I think the traditional auction is better for this sort of game because you get to see who is after who, etc. and there's more entertainment value for a draft really. There's no question the other option is more nerve-wracking and extracts more value, simply because you don't know who wants what and at what sort of price level, all you know is the moment anyone closes it's over and the player is gone forever. You can't size up the pocket of your competitor because you don't know who it is until they've shown up and fecked you over.

Would get boring very quickly though, just like blind auctions would.

Not if its done within a confine period. Have the prices go down by 5m every 10 minutes for 3 hours. At the end of that period, the day is over. Repeat until each team has 11 players.

Can do it for all positions(have a shortlist-players need to play atleast 50 games in a position to be considered), one per day.

I think it can work.
