When the draft list gets fixed I will bid for Silva and Figo. Hopefully we can add the new batch of players ASAP

I agree it speeds it up but as kps said it is the wrong way to do it, why so impatient? Bids have been getting raised all day long and soon people would have bid for them while staying in their budget.

I haven't bid on Adriano because while he is a bargain i ahve no interest in having him as my triker.

I did bid for a keeper, and I did make a point of pointing out I would come back for defenders later. You are arguing over nothing really, this is exactly why I'm fed up with this game. "You have an agenda, you have an agenda". Bollocks to that, I made completely reasonable bids for players and most of them would be absolute bargains at the prices I bid.

I get the problem you're trying to avoid, but I don't think what you're doing is the right way to fix that problem.

There's nothing confusing about it. All we need is for you guys to stop minding everyone else's business and focus on bidding on players you are interested in if the price is right. I'm already down to 278M and I have the money.

The manager replacing Anto will decide whether to keep his bids, if not, they revert to the previous bidder. I will tidy up the list for bidding to resume when that's done

It's not about minding someone else's business. I don't even have any problem with the prices you took those players to, that's not the point. The point is this way it becomes completely random and no strategy can be involved. You would just have players falling from bankrupt managers and there's no way to plan for that. For example if someone is saving money in this set of players knowing most of them will go for high thinking later on he will have more in his accounts and more chance of winning bidding wars, he won't as remaining budget has no part to play in bidding anymore, which is what is completely wrong.

I'm sure Pol made the rule for those who were unfortunate to get caught in a bidding war and their rival pulled out and they didn't have any money left, basically an exception, not for intentional manipulation of the whole mechanic and making it a farce.

@Annahnomoss and @Polaroid have done an absolutely cracking job here. From a concept with flaws they took on board everyone's feedback and added in their own ingenuity and have found a format that I think is fantastic. So well done to you.

I really wanted Pires, but you guys fecked it up for me =P. I was going for a Pires Cole combination like you currently have, I think it'll work great. But unfortunately for the other players I really want it might be a stretch for me.

But of course, you never know, things might change ;)

No farse. You are worrying about potential cut-price players further down the line, etc. None of that will happen.
 
I think what Antohan has done will cause the draft to last longer but in a way he is right. Market forces should fix it, and if not, he fecks himself.

What? I don't care about that, I didn't bid for any of the top players, not in the earlier thread, not now. Rivaldo was sitting at 20 for ages, I would've bid for him then, no? You are misunderstanding me, it's not about the prices, fine inflate them, in fact that's one of the great part about auction, just do it staying in your budget so that it's an even field all along, what's the difficult thing in doing that? Everyone was doing that till now.

I mentioend to Balu earlier. Point taken, you all seem to get your knickiers in a twist over that so I wouldn't go over budget again.

He does have a point though...all those players were under-valued and all he did was move it along. Saving us a few hours.

I take issue that you think I would deliberately ruin the draft. I'm more willing to take risks than usual, but had no intention to screw things up.

@Polaroid it feels unnecessary to kick Antohan out. Like MJJ says, Anto is instantly within budget.

It is just good to have some managers who make bids like that. It saves us hours of pointless 2 m bidwars on Nedved or whatever.

It is best for us all if we push it up quickly rather than wait a day for 10 people to make a 30 mill raise.

I agree. If he went too far, it's only him that suffers. I don't see the problem. Those who had those players in their sights and lost out woud still have the funds in the future if they plan and saved for it.

That was my only point, in case you think I'm sad about losing those top players, not at all. I would hardly ever bid 100 for one players, as good as he can be. My point simply was that remaining budget should play the biggest part in bidding, and that is where managing your money and implementing a strategy related to that comes into effect and keeps the game interesting.
