So, Chicharito £7m- 11 goals in all competitions
Darren Bent £24m- 12 goals in all competitions
Fernando Torres £50m- 9 goals in all competitions
Andy Carroll £35m- 11 goals in all competitions

:D

And Hernandez did most of his goals coming off the bench.

Why didn't they save the money? I think Suarez would have been an adequate replacement on his own.

This would make Carroll the eighth most expensive player ever. Ever.

A Liverpool side with Charlie Adam, Gerrard, J.Cole, Carroll and Suarez in the team will play some nice football.

Aliverpool side with Maxi, Cole, Gerrard and Torres were meant to play some nice football.

honestly mate. what are your feelings of this.

I don't have a clue. All rational thought must be foregone for now. I am just enjoying the entertainment value of it all right now.

I'm trying to make fun of my Scouse mate, but I can't work out what the plural of Hernandez is! Hernandezs? Hernandezes? I'm not saying Chicharitos! Anyway - Andy Carroll is apparently worth 7

Because they're shite even with Torres? The idea is they need to improve the team as best they can. Even if Suarez was half the player Torres is, and actually filled in for him brilliantly... They'd still be shite.

Yes, so use the £35m to pick the best 4 youngsters in Europe this Summer, not a crocked Geordie.

I'd hate to think what Leon Best is worth now.

and Konchesky has moved to Forest.

This is fecking amazing. Best transfer window ever.

Of course. But I think Adam will bring more to them than people estimate now. And of course, although Carroll's ridiculous price tag is worth a laugh, it's worth remembering that he's one of the most dominant, consistent strikers to arrive in the PL for a long, long while - and he's English.

In the summer time when you realise you don't have anything to spunk on big name signings you may look back on this and think otherwise. This is on a par with Rafa. £35 frigging million.

Charlie Adams and Carroll may be a perfect route one dream team.

I really like Carroll good prospect, but £35m is insane. I doubt we'd bid more than half that if we went in for him.

I see someone didn't do their times table homework. :nono:

He's got shite hair and he's their shame, Carroll, Carroll,

He's not the meaning of bargain, Carroll, Carroll,

They bought the lad for girl from Spain

And will be better than Rooney

Andy Carroll, bloody fecking hell!

 6 months. He's been a PL regular for 6 months. A chunk of that he spent injured. He's no more a "dominant, consistent" striker than Amr Zaki was in his first PL season.

As an aside, what does everyone reckon Welbeck is worth now?

To put this in context, it's worth mentioning that it was a surprise to many that Hughton both gave Carroll the number 9 shirt and didn't buy a striker to lead the line last summer.

£35m..... unbelievable. If I was a Barcode I would be delighted.

I am not looking at how well spent the money is right now.

Pressing F5 on my keyboard is like being on crack right now. I'm loving it.

Couldn't they have just let Torres go for £45m and taken a punt on Sturridge? Then they could have spend all this other money on strengthening the other shite parts of their team

Sturridge has never looked anywhere near good enough to play regularly for a team challenging in the CL (EDIT: Which is obviously the level Liverpool are aiming for). Carroll just might be, though they've overpaid massively for him.
