Manchester City have spurned a shock enquiry from Liverpool for Micah Richards, according to skysports.com.
The Reds have been the busiest club on transfer deadline day with a host of ins and outs on the cards at Anfield.
Luiz Suarez is expected to complete his £22.8million move from Ajax on Monday, as is Newcastle United's Andy Carroll in a reported £35million British transfer record switch and Charlie Adam is also being touted for a late move from Blackpool.
The Merseysiders have already allowed Paul Konchesky to leave for Nottingham Forest on loan and Fernando Torres looks set to seal a £50million switch to Chelsea.
And it appears that Kenny Dalglish identified Richards as a key target as the caretaker manager looks to shore up Liverpool's leaky defence.
The England international, who can play at centre-half or at right-back, was the subject of interest from Serie A side Juventus earlier in the January transfer window.
However, City have rebuffed the Reds' enquiry and Richards looks set to remain at Eastlands.
