Balague will tweet about Coutinho at least 50 times today.

Harry is back in business, be good to have the ceremonial interview from the window of his Rover.

Why do professional clubs leave transfers for the last day? Especially the big name players. It's exciting for the fans, sure, but you would think that the board would be wise enough to get their players before the last day atleast.

I might be feeling like this since we are not involved. :wenger:

Because teams play chicken with each other in the hope of a higher fee. It will never change unless the deadline is changed, as people won't crack either way until there is pressure/time about to end.

Someone will take pity on whoever is reporting at OT and give him something to drink.

If Liverpool don't get VvD then it's been a great window for them from United's perspective. Apart from Salah they've not signed a first team player, and there's clear weakness at LB, CB and GK.

Demairi Gray is such a depressing sounding name. Who'd buy that?

You have to admire Levy's brass balls. I know Alli and Barkley aren't really on the same level but they're young international attacking mids. Could you imagine bidding £30m for Alli? You'd get laughed out of the place and yet there's Levy trying to do business at that level because he's smelled blood where Everton and Barkley are concerned.

Swansea are in a mess. Who is scoring their goals?!

Uhm, we've just got one of the best young midfielders in Europe and one of England's most talented young strikers. Some things are not ideal, but it's far from a 'mess'.

Without Sigurdsson and Llorente the pace of our play should improve markedly. Counter-attacks were not existent last season because we couldn't stretch anyone or move the ball quick enough. We ended up resorting to lumping it into the box for the big man. Just kept us up, but it was painful to watch.

He has bigger balls than me that's for sure. It is a high risk game he plays every year - waiting till the last minute to get the best deals. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It makes transfer windows quite stressful for us poor fans though.

Just seen the traditional interview with Arry in his motor on SSN

ARSENAL UPDATE

Sky sources understand Arsenal are very happy with their transfer business this summer.

The Gunners have signed two players - Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette.

Definitely, the chance of disappointment when you're waiting later in the window to make smaller bids is doubtlessly more risky. The obvious criticism of Spurs over the past few windows is that their strategy has yielded only marginal squad gains while level of the first team has stayed relatively constant (Walker leaving, development of young players etc.).

Again today it looks up in the air: Aurier will slot straight in but looks risky, Barkley and Llorente again are squad additions rather than nailed-on first teamers. Either way it'll be interesting to watch you today, more so than United for sure :).
