Tosic - Gone. To CSKA

FC Cologne have confirmed they want to sign permanently Manchester United winger Zoran Tosic.

The Serbia international enjoyed an outstanding loan spell with Cologne this season and has expressed hopes of staying with the German club.

Cologne chairman Wolfgang Overath said: "We are fighting to keep the player."

German sources say Cologne are confident £4 million will be enough to land Tosic.

I honestly hope he stays and get's a chance. He has put some quality games in for Cologne and deserves a chance to play of the bench and rotation.

If they can afford it they will buy him, so it looks like Tosic won't return to England.

Mind you, if he has a good World Cup its possible that he will go for more money to another club.

Stay. Please.

Give the lad a chance FFS

if we are to sell, dont sell until after the world cup when he has had a chance to bump 2-3 mil onto his price tag.

Go.

He's not good enough.

 Here we go...

He's obviously good enough, he's shown it on every occasion he has had a chance to play except for United i.e. Serbia NT and Koln. If 6 goals in 12 games for a winger isn't 'good enough' then feck knows what more he can do.

If he is "good enough", why hasn't he played for Manchester United?

He wasn't ready.

Hope he stays. Not entirely sure he's a 'winger'. We'll see what happens but he has quality.

Well obviously we don't know which is why I would love it for SAF to lift the lid on this whole situation. It cannot be a question of ability I just can't see it. If its a question of his application/attitude as you pointed out then I can accept that, though I don't see how it can be as he is a fan of the club and even now he said that he would still come back to United - but not to play in the reserves.

you seem to know everything

last time in the ljajic case you said fergie withdrew his press conference the day after because he was busy, like having an appointment at the dentist

can you tell me, since you were so much in the know then, why ferguson has still declined to evoke this ljajic case 6 months after? the journalists' interest certainly wasn't remote

feck sakes, keep him, giggsy can't go on forever.

What on earth are you on about?

If Sir Alex should "lift the lid" on the situation on every player that doesn't get games, he would do nothing else.

Why isn't Diouf playing?
Why doesn't Cleverley get games?
What about De Laet?

Stay for me.

He has ability and by keeping him for another year it isnt like we will lose anything as I think there will be interested parties whenever we do actually put him up for sale....

If you don't see the difference between keeping a young third choice goalie and 4th-5th choice winger, then you must be on drugs.

He's not had any chances at all. I'd at the very least like to see him in action before we sell him at a loss, considering the figures we are alleged to have spent on him. Perhaps he will come back from his loan spell (a qualified success) a better player and one who has a chance of getting into the squad. You're turning into a FM muppet Cnut.

A FM muppet because I don't think Tosic will get games at United?

If we can get £7m plus then we should sell him.

We can use that money to pay the wages on a free transfer signing :)

I think obviously we should wait until after the WC to see how he performs before making our `expert` judgments on whether he should stay or go!

Hope he gets a shot. Unless he was sent out in the hopes of being marketed - he's done what loans are meant to do - improve players and show they can play at certain levels.

Should get a shot but, if SAF doesn't think he'll get one - sell him even for a loss. He's been pretty good at not moaning (Tosic that is) - let him get on with his career.

Zoran Tosic has admitted he would jump at the chance to join FC Cologne on a permanent basis this summer.

However, any deal looks unlikely for the time being with the Bundesliga side stalling over Manchester United's asking price, which is believed to be in the region of £5million.

The Serbia international, who is currently on World Cup duty, joined Cologne on loan from the Red Devils in January, scoring five goals in seven league games and helping the club steer clear of the relegation zone.

Having managed just 78 minutes of playing time in his 18 months at Old Trafford, Tosic is keen to find regular first-team football elsewhere with other clubs thought to be monitoring his situation after catching the eye in Germany.

"I am caught between two stools right now," he told Express newspaper.

"I have nothing left to do other than to remain patient. My agents have told me that FC Cologne would not have enough money to buy me out of my Manchester United contract.

"Honestly I would like to play on at Cologne. My family enjoys the city, this is a great deal. But even if the clubs would come to an agreement, the club would need to fulfil my demands as well.

"I am unaware how they would be able to pay me if they cannot pay Manchester United. I would want to remain at FC Cologne but it is a fact I need to get confronted with other options if you can get more money elsewhere.

"I will need to have my future sorted out. The faster the better, I would like to have it done before the World Cup."

Half the player Tom Cleverley is.

Not built for this league and doesn't have the pace to compensate. Some players just are not cut out for it.

He's probably good enough for a place in a team pushing for a Europa Cup spot but he is not and will not ever be good enough to warrent a place in the United first team and as we no longer have 11 strongest players, he won't be a good enough option to make it on to the bench either.

We'll get our money back on him from someone and he'll go on to have an average professional career.
