Top 4 Race 19/20 | duffer: "We [Chelsea] are getting 3rd. Despite what the lunatics in here think, Man United are not all that."

Anyone who thinks Liverpool will do us a favour against Chelsea is deluded. These scousers hate us. Our fate is in our hands.Just win the next 3.

Klopp doesn't seem the type to play the kids even if the points record is gone. I pray he gets them fired up if they lose this because the squad looks on vacation

Really hoping Sheffield Utd and Spurs do us a favor now. Just seen Leicester have an extra 3 days rest before playing us. That's massive. We'd probably need to have put them to bed by half time or that extra energy will tell. Can see them getting a result against us. All the more reason to play a weaker side in the Cup now. Please Ole, don't blow it!

Sheffield United are at significantly lower odds of winning at Leicester sadly, and even some sites that offer predictive modelling (looking at recent form, and rankings over the previous season) have Leicester at a 55% win chance, United is given the same chance at Palace.

It's really too close to call at this point, I hope that Sheffield get a result too. I'm hoping the sending off for Leicester costs them or that Sheffield get a big slice of luck in the game.

Spurs I still see getting a result vs Leicester, but I think it might all depend on the final game of the season.

Going to be an interesting next 24 hours.

You just know Liverpool will lose against Chelsea.

Nah, when playing half decent teams Chelsea need at least 3 goals to get a draw due to their defence. Best result Chelsea will get is a draw.

Southampton have nothing to fight for too. Sometimes it's better to play without pressure

Except Southampton could advance in the table and receive more prize money. Liverpool can't.

Obviously it's marginal but especially given that it's the first PL title for Liverpool it's entirely unsurprising to me that Southampton would be more motivated in a match at this point.

Just need to hope Leicester continue to implode tomorrow. If they drop points tomorrow then it's all ours for the taking.

A reasonable expectation is for them to draw vs Sheffield and draw vs Spurs. Provided we win our next 2, we'd be out of reach for them by the time they play us.

I think Chelsea are just going to be out of reach now, they’ll get at least a point v Liverpool and probably beat wolves.

Come on Sheffield!

True! In fact when you think about it a draw against Sheffield is almost the same as a loss, because if they draw twice and we win twice we are out of reach. However if they draw or lose and win v spurs they can still qualify (if we win the 2).

Not sure that made sense but it made sense to me.

Liverpool will lose to Chelsea, you just know it. But in the end it is in our hands. We do not deserve it if we cannot win our last three, we have to show that as a team our mentality has finally changed. I know we still have Europa but in one off games you just never know.

Arsenal have 2 winnable games left which will keep the pressure on Wolves and Spurs, so I haven’t given up on overhauling Chelsea and I’m confident we’ll finish ahead of Leicester if we win our next game.

I actually think it affected us, wolves have practically nothing to fight for after that, and it would been good if they fight until the last match considering they have the last game against Chelsea.

They have EL spot to fight for, Spurs and Sheffield is breathing down their neck...

You’re right in the sense that anything but a win against Sheff U only adds pressure to their game vs Spurs* as they’d know anything but a win in that game would give us the chance to seal it vs West Ham.

*if we capitalised against Palace.

Yes! Thank you for explaining my own point to me!

United 3rd
Chelsea 4th

I understand you lot being nervous, there's a lot riding on these upcoming games, but it's tough to imagine United not beating Palace and West Ham.

I think Palace is the game that is the hardest of the lot still.

I just have a feeling that Moyes and Mourinho is going to ruin our CL hope during the same round.
The old manager curse.

I said i think all games for pool now are dead rubbers in effect. Didnt watch though, were they that poor?

The pessimism in here towards United is mad. We’ve dropped 2 points in 5 games, 4 in total since restart.

Chelsea and Leicester are in much worse form, with more difficult looking games. I know chelsea have only lost 2, but they’ve looked much more laboured than us. Bar Watford at home, I don’t think they’ve looked convincing in any games.

I get that pessimism is natural, but there is still lots of reasons to be positive and confident.

Nah, between games Palace are currently residing at Club Tropicana. They are the most on the beach team in the league. Only reason they gave Chelsea a game is because they have a fun sized goalkeeper who cannot save shots straight down the middle of his goal.

Utd will have the Palace game won by the 60th minute. 3-0/3-1.

It's usually not an easy ground to go to. I'm obviously hoping it turns into a slugfest, but they're on a 5 game losing streak.

That’s true but our game on Sunday makes it tricky IMO.

2 big results that will help us further tonight. Wolves dropping points giving Sheff United further incentive. Don’t see Klopp/Pool losing back to back.

If you believe in that sort of crap.

A good chance at a trophy is not irrelevant at all.
Losing out on the CL because of the FA Cup would be monumentally stupid.

Play the best possible team (taking injuries and fatigue into account) against Palace and West Ham. Play whoever else is available against Chelsea.
