What are the German fans' opinions on him? One Bayern fan in the newbies thinks he could be sold this summer and has been unconvincing throughout his Bayern career.

Very much doubt that - he is in Heynckes' plans next season and will definitely not leave in the summer.

Class player though, young and learning. Great set-piece taker and has an eye for the killer pass. Reminds me a bit of Nasri, to be honest.

Speaking of German players who are similar to Nasri... How do you think Kroos compares to Marin, Jaap? I've developed a bit of a muppet crush on Marin this season.

Marin is a lot more direct than Kroos - likes to take on players, one-on-one's are his speciality. He has got nice skills indeed, a bit of a right-footed Adam Johnson, for me.

He's a tad light weight, so the Premier League would be a difficult challenge for him, although we have seen lighter players succeed here, haven't we?

Marin, though, has had - like Werder Bremen - a poor season and has been dropped to the bench at times. Next year will be crucial for him, especially with the European Championship in Poland/Ukraine on the horizon.

Whoever said that is very impatient. Kroos is young and learning and one of the best young talents on the planet. He wont be leaving when they manager who got the best out him is now in charge of Bayern,. Not forgetting that Bayern have also not forgotten what letting go of Hummels has cost them, so they wont releasing any youngsters with huge potential as quickly any time soon.

Why not him? We should go for him

Young German midfielders are definitely flavour of the month these days. He is already capped (only time I've seen him play is for Germany in the last world cup) and is getting plenty of appearances for Bayern so certainly looks to be a huge talent.

Would love us to pick up someone like him, but Bayern would not want to sell him and he probably doesn't want to leave Bayern anyway. Also he is one for the future, not right now, whereas in our midfield we probably need somebody ready to come straight in and make an impact.

Watching him play centre midfield for Bayern, looks good, makes me wonder in the spirit of modric Kroos type players whether there are any other technical wing forward type players who would do a good job in a midfield two.

Park? :nervous:

Schweinsteiger....

fecking Bayern!

Giggs

Yeah he was excellent, especially in the first half.

I still don't think it suits him being so high up even if he has been given licence to rotate with Schweinsteiger but yeah I do think he'll become the player everyone said he would. There's still something a bit unconvincing about him but a player with that kind of awareness and technique really should go a long way.

Didn't think he looked particularly good tonight, but even then you could see his obvious qualities. I was surprised he wasn't taken off, I thought it would be him off instead of Ribery.

Yeah I agree that he might be better playing deeper in midfield as well, he could control a game easily with his passing. When Schweinsteiger was injured didn't he play in the deeper midfield two and then Muller took his place in attacking midfield? If they dropped Gustavo and played Kroos and Schweinsteiger with Muller just ahead, that midfield would be brilliant offensively.

I agree with this. Götze is a brilliant little player, I think he'd be a good player for us in the middle of the park. Reminds me a bit of Wilshere at times.

How can you compare Kroos with Goetze? Goetze is more offensive.
In fact, Wilshere is similar in playing style to Kroos.

I have been impressed with Kroos watching the Bundesliga on ESPN but his control of midfield at the Bernabeu was incredible for a 22 year old.

Very impressive.

dont really understand the koos nasri comparisons. admittedley only seen him a couple of times

i really like him, especially now he plays deeper, which IMO suits him more. would love to have him at united. as for the Nasri comparisons, i don't see it myself. Nasri is more mobile and a better dribbler whilst Kroos has a better passing range and can dictate the tempo of the game.

He's the German Xavi which doesn't make sense because he's not as good and Xavi is really efficient.

22year old Kroos > 22 year old Xavi. Facht.

He might not ever reach Xavis level, but I hate comparing developing youngsters with players, not only in their prime, but the best in the world at what they do as well.

I know Goetze is very young but should he have got a chance somewhere.

Too much of an old fashioned playmaker for the modern game at a top club. Isn't mobile enough to be a great #10 with only one striker and isn't good enough defensively to play as a central midfielder.

IMO he could be a star for a smaller club that builds around him but unless he changes his game he isn't good enough for a big club.
