Cronus but a cracking effort.
Hoping this happens. If we can get Shaw, Kroos and a centre back like Hummels before the world cup then I'd be over the moon. We'd probably need only one or two more signings after that but those 3 would be the priorities.

The priorities are surely two CMs and a LB, with a CB coming fourth on the list. I'd rather trust our talented albeit slightly unproven (through no fault of their own, just the longevity of Vidic and Rio's partnership) centre-backs than stick with any of our current central midfielders as first choice. Particularly since Kroos is going to need someone energetic and defensively capable next to him, which is exactly the sort of player we don't have.
I'd say our priorities are just as high at CB as they are elsewhere, given that we've lost Ferdinand and Vidic, but still have Evra at LB.

My point being I would never have put the Mirror down as a tight source yet they were bang on, as I recall Ogden and the others were rather late to the party? Could be wrong. Okay, I think that Djemba Djemba is the best ever but won't discuss it because people will call it crazy cause they are haters. That doesn't make sense, you know it.
Take a look at the list that the media has put out. Now ask yourself this question while looking at it: is this too good to be true? If you answer yes, then it most likely is.
Control the muppetry. Shaw and Kroos would be a very good summer. We'll add a defensive player as well. Next summer, we will add some more players. Building the squad slowly is the way to do it. I am sure this is what van Gaal will do. The good thing about no European football is that it takes the pressure off of this summer transfer window a little bit. We don't need to have a deep squad next season.
We easily have the squad for van Gaal to finish in the top 4. let's not allow David Moyes' lack of managerial ability to cloud our judgment. The guy was a Sunday League manager.
Break the bank for Vidal & we're back in business, with a couple of other CM's also.. Cant rely on one player like we have with Carrick!

Strootman is the defensive midfielder. Unless you were thinking about a defender.
If we ended up with Kroos, Shaw and Vidal then I would call that a fantastic Summer. We can cope with other areas of the pitch with the players we have, but adding 2 world class CM's and an exceptional young LB is 100% the priorities for me. Anything after that is a bonus.

I'm happy for people to know that I think Rooney's still a world class player, and you can be happy for people to know that you think Djemba-Djemba is the best player ever. I mean, if we're treating that as a useful comparison.
There wont be any Champions League football the season after next, if we dont upgrade the squad - nevermind the 1st choice 11. We've far too many duds & LVG comin in wont suddenly make them world-class!

Either way, the four signings you've predicted there would constitute a superb summer's work. I'd be chuffed.
A world-class CM, a very good partner for him, someone to bolster our recently reduced defence, and one of the best and most promising young English players in the league at the moment to replace Evra as first choice. Put our already excellent attacking options on top of that foundation and you've got a team that look more like Manchester United quality again.

Like I said, don't let Moyes' incompetence interfere in your thinking. van Gaal alone would have us competing in the top 4. We are obviously going to make some signings, so 4th spot is pretty much guaranteed next season. In 2015-16 we will in the EPL title.

Those 3 would be so sweet man, but i cant see any reason why we cant bring in the right number of players we need. If we cop on we're being fecked around like Fabregas did last summer - then move on to the next target. Its not just Ed thats dealin with transfers - we've a team of them!

I've got to the stage where I just constantly refresh the transfer forum to see if there's an update on Kroos, Shaw or Fabregas. What a summer this one could be.
That type of thinkin gets us fans regarded as arrogant by opposition fans, so i'd refrain from sayin that out loud man. Look what happened to Spurs last season after they bought something like 7 or 8 players. There's no guarantees whatsoever!
Good enough for me. Are people forgetting that he was player of the year last season? You'll see a completely different player next season under van Gaal than you did under Moyes.
People are so quick to give up on our players.
