Tom Ince

Inter seem to be hoovering up all the freebies.

I think Inter's new owner is a bit of a transfer muppet.

They're gonna have a squad of past it former stars and overrated youngsters.

So pretty what they've been for the past few years.

I think one of the best things about him is his movement and because of that Serie A might suit him. At the same time I agree, he's never impressed me too much overall and the hype around him was certainly larger than what he had to offer. So even if the tactical game might suit him, he might not be good enough to take advantage of it.

good to see an english player playing in italy. inter might be struggling but they are still a big club. would be a nice experience for ince jr for sure.

He's somewhat worse than Downing. Downing wasn't actually that bad a player, year to year his form could go either brilliant or awful, but at his best he was actually a good player if never good enough for the very top teams - i'd be very surprised if Ince ever reaches that level. I'd say he's more like a Wayne Routledge, a decent player who at his best could be a handy player for a lower table side, but that's about it. I'd be surprised if he doesn't return to England within the year

If Downing had the right mentality he could have been a top player. The ability is there for it.

So he couldn't get in the Palace team. And Inter are signing him.

Awkward transfer.

Taarabt was shit for Fulham and went to AC and looked quite good. And he was only on loan from QPR. AC loaning a championship player. Oh how the Italian giants have fallen.

Taarabt looked no different in Serie A to what he did in the Premier League. Same player, same issues.

If this happens it'll just be another one for the people who are quite clueless when it comes to Serie A and Italian football in general to take a shot at the league, as you can see already.

Think he should've went to Inter, champions league experience, playing regularly and playing against continental players, he would've had a better shot at being in the England squad too

Inter finished 18 points off CL qualification this season (Milan 21).

In fact, just realised that Inter haven't qualified for the CL in 3 seasons now.

Not too surprised really. I don't think he'd last very long out there even if he did go, it would just be another Robbie Keane scenario. He knows himself that he can earn more money over here as well.

So he's turned down Inter Milan and will be joining Hull. What is it about English players being so reluctant to test themselves abroad?

How the hell is Hull preferable to Inter? :wenger:

He'd be lost in a country he knows nothing about and not knowing the language. Lots of English players prefer to stay abroad I feel because they fear the culture shock and would rather stay comfortable in England.

That and he probably would not be a regular for Inter.

I doubt Inter were seriously interested in him if he's signed for Hull. What young millionaire would choose living in Hull over Milan?

I've been to Milan, it's an absolute trainwreck of a city.

Hull's probably worse but still.

@Eriksen

He might not even be a regular for Hull. Aluko and Brady both had pretty good seasons i thought and they've just spent 6/7m on Snodgrass.

I'd rather fight for a place at Inter than be guaranteed a spot at Hull.

He's a young player, he needs gametime, he hasn't been a regular for a club for a while.

For the other reasons I mentioned plus the fact Serie A is in a poor state as are Inter, I don't really find his decision that strange.

I doubt the Inter interest was real, I'd imagine his old man has had a word and asked Inter to put a few words out to the press about their interest, raise the interest in his son, however on this occasion with Hull looking like his most likely new club, it hasn't quite worked as Paul would have liked.

He's probably on a similar wage to what he'd have been offered at Inter anyway and they're hardly the most attractive proposition in the state they're in at the minute. Hull have the Europa too don't they?

If you had money to burn the way a footballer has I'd say it would be grand enough. Never been to Hull personally but it doesn't exactly have the best of reputations.

I'm sure he won't be living in the inner city slums of Hull either, probably the nice outskirts areas.

I'd rather retire than live in Hull. By far the worst place I've been to in the UK. Even Huddersfield was nicer.

Another 'promising' English youngster with no ambition, and people wonder why English football is in the state it's in.

Instead of complaining about how many foreigners there are in the Premier League, why don't English players invade Europe? I can only see it having a beneficial effect on the national team.

If he went to Inter and got some game time & impressed, his value would shoot up and he would have the chance of playing for England, that's not going to happen at Hull, unless he's something really special & gets snapped up by one of the big boys, or Scousepool.
