He still is not good enough to just take over a game. Needs to progress a lot to do that. Agreed this was a hard game and the opponents were class and he did what he could to ensure that he held onto possession, but going forward he did not offer much.

Going forward he doesn't give much at the pointy end. But fairly often he is one of the players who uses a couple of quick one twos to get out of trouble and open up space so that the team can actually launch the attack in the first place.

The type of player he is will always make it hard for him to dictate games on his own. He thrives of quick little paces and movement, without that around him he is going to struggle to impact things to much. At this point I see his role as more of a linking player between the Mid/Def area to the forwards/attacking mids.

Perhaps that's why SAF plays him so sparingly; he looked absolutely knackered.

Absolutely shite today.

Atrocious! If Ando had played the second half like that, we would have his head on a plate! First touch was way off, too late in tackles and didn't seem able to pull off the easiest of things, then tried the more difficult stuff that didn't work either. If was fuming that he wasn't replaced!

Worst performance in a United shirt. Needs to take a long hard look at himself after that rubbish.

That was pure shite. Changed from giving the ball aways countless times in the first half to beeing invisible devensively and offensively.

He and Valencia were beyond awful and I've been a big fan of Tom.

fecking hideous today, Carrick was playing against Chelsea AND his midfield partner.

Too inconsistent. One moment I think he can play here and be a good player, then I look at today and think he's another Darron Gibson.

Looked a boy lost in a man's world out there, Ramires owned his arse all game.

What on Earth was Fergie doing leaving him out there? Looked like a kid that won a competition to play for United. Completely lost his head, legs and confidence.

Wasn't tracking the midfield runners, wasn't passing to teammates and was a one-man pressure inducing machine by hoofing it straight to Chelsea every time he touched it in the last 15 minutes. Carrick must have wondered what the f*ck was going on.

I partly blame Fergie. Has to change things.

He was very poor today. He looked very scared to be on the ball and looked lost when he had to defend

Looked exhausted, especially in the second half. Should have been substituted.

You pretty much summed up the second half for me there, mate! Valencia was egregious and Cleverley equally so! Tom actually made Mikel look like Zidane out there.

Shows you how limited are midfield options are. It's either him or Anderson at the moment.

Was puzzled as to why Fergie didn't called on Anderson on the 60th minute mark when it became clear that Cleverley is exhausted.

I thought this too, it seemed clear to me that Kagawa looked more capable of making things happen today.

He and Rooney were terrible on the ball today, and the reason we lost control of the match I believe.

Cleverley is not the player you want in midfield, if we are defending. He can't tackle, and no positioning sense. It's been proven against City when we were defending our lead, against Chelsea the last time, against Madrid, and now against Chelsea again.

Bingo, Cleverley looked completely knackered 2nd half, I expected Ando on when he was clearly warming up down the sideline. We had no shape in midfield at all, it was like spurs at home all over again.

Had a shocker. How he stayed on the pitch only Fergie knows.

I thought as much as Valencia was poor when he came on Cleverley was just as bad if not worse.

Is he the new David Batty?

Shocking performance, he might as well have played for Chelsea as he kept on passing them to them....was a big a fan of his but he seems to gone into a shell of late!

He is not part of the solution. At best should be a sub or cup games player.

I still think there is something there, maybe it has been a long season for him but on recent performances he is more David Batty than anything but United quality.
