No mention of it after the game by SAF and no suggestion of an issue when he went off, hopefully it's just a precaution.

With Scholes back and Giggs's presence, the unavailability of Clev is not fatal for us. What we do need is a back-up for Carrick. Ando, please come back!
Jones and Park can help out, but that can only be in a 3 man midfield.

I don't know what questions we should be asking but the injury situation is beggaring belief at this point. Seems to be the so many players getting injured, time after time.

Can we really ask questions of the medical team? You would expect Utd to have the best of the best really. So wtf is going on? If it was one season then ok, anyone can be unlucky, but this is 3 out of the last 4 iirc. Unbelieveable!

A blow doesn't have to be fatal for it to impact overall performance. It's the lack of options and being unable to sufficiently rest players that will harm us in the long run.

FA set to announce Tom Cleverley is out of the England squad to play Holland next week. Damaged ankle during Ajax game last night

What the feck?

nnnnnnnnnooooooooo!!!! :(

We didn't even rush him back, I'll be very worried if it's another ankle injury, hopefully it's just swelling and a precaution but SAF said he'd play the full 90 :nervous:

So another one who gets injured in every fecking game he features in? Just great.
Hopefully this is just to avoid him having to play for England.

At least Saha could play two consecutive games on his return. I am not saying, I am just saying like...

Tom did play two consecutive matches after his return, so whatever you were trying to say was wrong anyway ;)

Hardly a big surprise. Really hope he doesn´t turn out to be a highly skilled player who simply was not strong enough physically.

I would say this is probably a "Fergie International injury" ... but then you'd assumed he would pick that up in the Norwich game??

Hopefully this. I doubt Fergie wants him to be involved against Holland.

I don't think he would have played against Nowich too.

Tell me this is a joke? What the feck is going on with all these injuries. Are we even going to see at least 90% of our squad fit at the same time this season? Ridiculous. Wait, there's no official news...yet.

he didn't seem injured when he came off, is this some kind of sick fecking joke, how come city are blessed with no injuries?

hasn't someone from the mirror just tweeted that he's in the squad for Norwich?

Yes. KM posted it in the Pogba thread:

Mirror reporter and Manchester United fan Laurie Hanna tweeting that Pogba, Rooney, Rio and Clev are in squad for Norwich.

But looking at the tweet:

Laurie Hanna ‏ @LaurieHanna
Ferdinand, Pogba and Rooney all back in #MUFC squad vs #Norwich. Cleverley included as well, despite injury.

So there's an injury but either it's not that bad and might be fine for Norwich, or the squad was announced before they found out about Cleverley's injury (I doubt it's the latter).

It might have been that he was taken off because "he was feeling his ankle a bit", as a precaution like and he was feeling fine this morning?

Please :(

But surely Tom would have wanted to play for his country, in an attempt to push for a place in the Euro's squad?

Certainly sounded that way at the pre match press conference. I really feel sorry for the lad the last time he was called up to play for England the game got cancelled cos of the riots and this time the legacy of Kevin Davies has kept him out of the game. I just hope he can get over this injury soon and that it doesn´t dog him for the rest of his career... :(

Can't be that bad then, just a precaution

SAF said yesterday that noone was injured and Cleverley had already come off!

So he's not injured. SAF doesn't feel the need to give Cleverley to an England friendly while he's sttill owrking his way back!
