Can't wait for his return now. He's going to be a key player for us in the final run-in.

He's finally back in training.

Hopefully he'll be fit enough for Liverpool in the FA-Cup.

If I´m reading a legit twitter account, then he´s just back running outdoors. That sounds like a long way from full training never mind actually playing.

As expected.

6th January - Finally some good news. Plan to b outside running in 2 weeks and training the week after that. Cnt wait to b back!

I fear injuries are going to be quite frequent with this one, which would be a massive shame.

too early to tell - the injury he has had this season was simply down to a dirty challenge combined with a bit of bad luck

Yeah, I'd say given his current average playing in the premiership, he'll sustain an injury about every five games.

For feck sake, some of you people are astounding.

I can't wait to see a midfield three of Cleverley---Scholes---Carrick/Anderson behind Rooney in a big game.

He spent much of his loan spell at Wigan injured as well

He played in 25 of the 33 league games he was eligible for...

I'm sure he's due to begin training this week.Did he not say the last two weeks were to be spent running and this week with the 1st team?

Has this all been from that Kevin Davies tackle? Was the second injury due to him coming back too early from the inital one?

God damn Kevin Davies. We would've had the league wrapped up by now if it hadn't been for that buffoon.

The best football we've played this year was with Anderson and Cleverley.

No.

The best performance (and the best football) this season was Fulham away. Playing against a bogey side, away from home and we wiped the floor with them, at both ends of the pitch.

Much more impressive than the flat-track arse-kicking we gave an atrocious Arsenal side whilst still conceding 2 goals (could easily have been 3 or 4)

I don't really understand worrying about young players being injury prone, lots of young players pick up these injuries, it's fairly common-place unless you're Ronaldo.

Remember Messi went through a patch.

Really looking forward to a Cleverley Carrick combo.

I think they'll compliment each other really well.

I'm not sure if he came back too early, but it was apparently a re-injuring of ankle.

Of course players often injure a spot very close to a healing injury from overcompensating from the weakness.

Amazing that Davies came out and said he was going to cream someone, then happens to injure a player from a tackle from behind in the first 10 minutes. Coincidences abound.

That's a very good point; I'd totally forgotten about that.

Our defensive efforts were atrocious in all the games we played that combination. Good football combines offense and defense, which we have had a much better mix of with Carrick in the side.

On topic: Great that hes returning. Cant wait to see him and Carrick together.

Any claim to our best midfield has to involve Carrick. I'm looking forward to seeing him and Cleverley get some games together.

I wanna see Cleverly, Scholes and Carrick as a midfield three. Or Morrison instead of Scholes in the the future. (yeah I know it's Barca like, but still would be good)

Probably, but it is worth noting that Cleverley and Anderson did look very good together at the start of the season. Basically, our midfield was playing best when Carrick wasn't in it. That's not necessarily his fault though; he's more a victim of circumstance.

Yeah but Carrick has been in form for the past two months. He has been our best midfielder.

Yeah, I know he has been and I'm not denying it, but that doesn't mean that he is definitely in our best central midfield. We'll find out when he plays alongside Cleverley for definite, though.
