Argh. Was just gonna post my first twitter newsflash and got pipped at the post. Dammit.
Eh, that's what experience means.

PS. Don't even try to post Twitter-transfer-news in Transfer Forum. You'll never beat wr8.

He's just tweeted:

Finally some good news. Plan to b outside running in 2 weeks and training the week after that. Cnt wait to b back!

Should be ready to play after the Arsenal game.

Great news, we've got Chelsea and Liverpool in February.

He won't be match fit for at least a month after he starts training though.I'm thinking Norwich

Chelsea is on February 5th, he should be back in full training when we play Arsenal. That's about 15 days.

Anderson played against Blackburn after 10 days of training, I'm pretty sure he'll be ready for Liverpool at least.

He's not Anderson and we're not playing Blackburn. SAF won't risk him in matches of that stature with little or no match experience under his belt

It's unlikely alright. Especially bearing in mind Clev has been out so much longer and SAF still hinted he didn't want to play Anderson against Blackburn.

A lot will depend on whether there's any conveniently timed reserve game in the run-up to the Liverpool game.

No chance of that. I hate myself enough for giving in to this whole Twitter thing, if I ended up following a whole load of "ITK" gobshites, the self-loathing would be too much to bear.

Lol

Im not on Twitter or Facebook too much noise to signal. I have enough patience to wait until a transfer is made rather than get worked up of one that may happen.

Chelsea away, just one day after First Team, so that's Monday - five days before the Liverpool game. Not bad. And City, but it's on Thursday, so no chance.

But it's too early to talk about it.

You have to take into account that Smalling will more than likely be back along with Evans which will allow Jones to play in CM.With Carrick and Anderson also available the best Cleverely can hope for is a spot on the bench

Was it ever established whether the injury Tom picked up against Everton was a new one, or related to the earlier injury sustained against Bolton?

Related. Boss called it a recurrence. When he hit the long pass forward his ankle buckled beneath him.

Fergie said it was the same injury:
“It’s worse than we thought. When he (Cleverley) came off against Everton he reported that it was just a bit of tightness, a bit of pain, but we’ve done further scans and he’s had a recurrence of the injury, so we’re going to have to give him a break until Christmas time, I think.”

#SAF: "I think the plan is for #Cleverley to start running 2 weeks on Mon & join us maybe the following week so he's maybe a month away."

We do need him back, he is probably the only midfield we have that has the ability to move forward and score goals, his one touch and general movement is good too.

I guess with Scholes being back, we don't need him back so soon, but i would love to him play when we meet the Arse, Liverpool.

I dont remember, but did he get a minute of CL football? I cant remember if he did which is a real shame.

I thought he was outstanding against City in the CS and against Arsenal at home. Id like to see how he does in big games for us and I think he would do well. Will be interesting to see how he does next to Carrick. You would think it would work but it did work with Anderson because both were dynamic and willing to go forward and chase back.

If carrick were sitting, im not sure but if we saw Carrick driving on, I think its a no brainer it would work. Either way its promising but frustrating that of all players, he had to be the one out in a position we arent really stacked in.

I know it's cliche, but he really will be like a new signing when he's finally fit. Still young and I haven't seen too much of him to form an opinion one way or another. He's got some big shoes to fill judging by his fan base.

This thread makes me facepalm everytime I see it.

He's played five competitive matches.

Yeah, and was for the most part excellent and exciting. Thise games in which he played, he made the team tick. We are very weak in the department in which he plays.

But yet people praising him and hoping he comes back from injury quick makes you facepalm. :nono:

SAF and Eric Harrison don't mind heaping him with praise and they might know a thing or two about young players. I think it's only natural that Cleverley will go through rough spells eventually but we just need to get him fit and healthy, he'll be an important player in the forthcoming years.

Heh
Going through that thread again. Safe to say I'm a bit of a fanboy

He sometimes feels like the only midfielder who can do the simple things going forward well and as Fergie says we haven't had a midfielder like him for a while.

I met him and Danny Welbeck at Euston station in the summer. Didn't say a lot but seemed like a top bloke. They're both part of the future of the club which is great to see.

Can't wait for him to come back. Not only will he provide freshness to our midfield, I loved seeing the telepathic understanding between him and Welbeck in the brief time they played together.

He's played considerably more than that. It's not just United's first team who play competitive matches, he's had very good loan spells and his talent and potential are quite obvious.

Yep, amazing understanding with Welbeck but also in the few games he played had a brilliant understanding with Anderson and Rooney. It seems that players find it easy to play with him. They understand his game, and he understands theirs.

Ahh Jesus, he obviously played for the reserves, and played quiet well. I know that. Playing consistently well for one of the best teams in the world is a completely different kettle of fish - he's done it five times.

I think it's fair to say the expectations of some people in this thread are a little unfairly high for a 22 year old, coming back from a long injury, with 5 appearances. Let's hope he surpasses them all though.
