Dont be silly. Val deserves the start.
Fatty can warm the bench.

Realistically tho, Scholes wont start too many (unfortunately)
Carrick-Clev in the middle and Rooney#10 is very likely.
Andow being rotated in whenever fit.

I'm just thinking theoretically, but I prefer Nani on the right to Valencia, though I can understand that Valencia and Nani is better than Nani and Park with our injuries. I suspect Nani and Young will again become our first choice.

I didn't think Carrick and Cleverley looked very good together in pre-season, but I don't suppose I should doubt they'd made a fine partnership.

Amos - Jones, Ferdinand, Smalling, Fryers - Cleverley, Carrick, Scholes - Welbeck, Rooney, Young

De Gea - Rafael, Vidic, Evans, Evra - Valencia, Anderson, Giggs, Nani - Hernandez, Berbatov

What's Lindegaard ever done to you?

OH. english lineup. Sorry I thought it was just two strongest line up type things. Carry on.

Say what you want about the quality in the midfield but this squad is amazingly deep with lots of youth and experience.

The evidence is being only 3 points behind an oil team that can buy anyone while suffering one of the worst injury runs the team has seen.

when you look at it like that......

:wenger::D

Randomly saw him and I think it must have been his girlfriend at the Westfield at Stratford London. It was literally half an hour after the game had ended today. 2nd time I've bumped into the bloke in London in the past few months.

He'll probably be back in one of our big matches the upcoming weeks without Fergie announcing that he's fit in one of his pre-game pressers. Sort of a surprise for the opposition, if you will.

yeah, because it's been a few days since we heard he was back in full training, and I guess he would need at least a couple of weeks of that before being ready.

This then someone will kick him in the game and he will be out rest of the season....

Excellent prospect though Tom is, I don't think he's exactly reached the stage where finding out he's playing will psychologically affect opponents.

Don't know about opponents, but having seen his website, I certainly crumble in psychilogical agony by the very mention of his name.

""We're a bit better in terms of injuries. I hope Rooney, Nani, Cleverley and Young will all be in the squad. Rooney and Nani have trained for the last two days. It's more likely Tom will play against Chelsea reserves on Monday but he'll travel [on Sunday]."

Wooh! :)

Great to have Cleverley back. He is the Scholesiest player we have. Well except for scholes now of course.

Very little in common apart from the fact that they're midfielders.

Well I think they are both excellent one touch passers, good appreciation of space. To some extent both can dictate the tempo of the game of course scholes is currently much better. Both have a great work ethic and not afraid to get stuck in. Also both have a good goal threat from range.

They are not identical but Cleverley is the most scholes like first team midfielder we currently have. More so than Ando, Carrick, Fletcher etc ;)

I don't think we've really had a Cleverley-type midfielder before. It's why his early games were so promising. He's a proper pass-and-move midfielder who carries the ball well, got great energy, and focuses on short, quick passes to drive the tempo of a match up. In the spanish mould of midfielders, one might say.

I think he has much more of a goal threat about him than he showed early on, as well.

He is very similar to Iniesta or Silva in terms of style. Obviously with a long way to go to match either.
