That news is even worse.

He really did not do an awful lot wrong last season. Although he is far from great

Our team is crying out for a midfield player like Wesley Senider!

Yes, it is. I am certain though if the transfer had been possible it would have been done.

It really looks like he was asking for ridiculous sums of cash

Looks like a injury prone player to me,even last season Cleverley missed a lot of games for Wigan due to various injuries.I guess we have another Saha in our hands.

I think it's a bit too soon to say that. Think him playing first-team like this has taken its toll. Just look how Danny pulled up the other week and then now has another niggle. I think both in time, will be fine. Some people are just panicking because he's a big miss.

He has played first team football for three years already when you include his time at Watford and Wigan so it shouldn't be that much of an issue. It's not all that much different from playing for United physically, you still get to spend 90 minutes on the pitch attempting to play most of it at full pace.

I'm sure we play at a quicker pace than Wigan or Watford. Especially when Tom is in the team. I still think he's adjusting to being in United's first team. Although, he's settled very well.

Cleverley was also playing first team football for Wigan and Watford, and he has never finished a season properly for those clubs also.It has nothing to do with playing first team like these for utd.He was also injured for most of the time for Wigan and Watford. Its a bizzare reason you have used.

I can understand Welbeck with niggles as he is still young and developing his physique, Cleverly is a bit concerning though.

Why dont you bring up his stats for both teams so this discussion can be more definitive? I think it's one thing suffering injury. It's another when the type of injury you've suffered is more severe than others. He hurt his ankle and it's very likely to have a recurrence of the injury if you're not careful. If Tom, hurt another part of his body then I'd be concerned. The fact that this is a recurrence of the same injury just shows that he's not 100% over it.

That's better than pulling your hammy. I think he'll be okay. If it gets so bad in which he's limited to 15 appearances, then I think we can have some reason for concern.

shit, we should buy sneijder and have him as back up for when cleverley is injured

Most players would get injured when some thug tackles you from behind. Also the latest injury, was just a 'freak' of sorts so when people talk like he's injury prone, they have to remember he's been unlucky more then anything.

He's not really had a full season in the last 4 years or so when he hasn't had a reasonably significant injury.

Either we bring through Pogba or Morrison or we buy in jan Gotze fo example why the feck not or we win nothing this season IMO.

He played 25 games in the league for Wigan last season and started 35 for Watford the year before, so that's blatantly untrue. That said, he did pick up a few knocks here and there. Whether he's gonna continue to do so or if it's a matter of his physique still settling is anyone's guess.

So going by your theory that means he has been unlucky for the past 4 seasons with injuries. The stats below shows how many matches cleverley has played so far in the past 4 seasons, and in every season his appearances has been interrupted by injuries rather than being dropped.

15 matches for Leicester
20 matches for Watford
25 Premier League appearances for Wigan
6 appearances so far for Man Utd..

3,5 seasons, he joined Leicester in January 09. And your Watford stat is incorrect.

This is an opportunity to play Pogba, or as a minimum have him a Ravel on the bench.

I see no point of bringing back Gibson or playing Giggs in midfield.

As there is no value, i guess there will never be any value in the market, so buying a truly world class CM is out of the question so why not bring Pogba and Ravel into the squad now..

Good to see he's signed a new deal, hopefully this run of injuries will merely be a short term bit of bad luck rather than a case of being injury prone.

Clev is Utd's best youngster since Scholes - Harrison

Tom Cleverley is Manchester United's best youngster since Paul Scholes - Eric Harrison | Football News | ESPN.co.uk

Tom Cleverley is unquestionably the best youngster Manchester United have had since Paul Scholes, according to former United youth coach Eric Harrison.

Following the retirement of Scholes last summer, Cleverley has seized the chance to replace the former England international at the heart of United's midfield. He shone as a substitute in the Community Shield win over Manchester City, then carried that form into the early weeks of the season.

Although his emergence has been checked by a series of injures - the latest of which will keep him out until Christmas - he is still being tipped to earn a place in the England squad for Euro 2012.

And Harrison, who helped usher the likes of Ryan Giggs and David Beckham into the United first team, believes the sky is the limit for the 22-year-old. "Cleverley is the best home-grown young player Manchester United have had since Paul Scholes. No question," he said.

Meanwhile, Harrison has tipped the youngsters breaking through at Old Trafford - as well as Cleverley, United can boast the likes of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Danny Welbeck - to emulate the achievements of the Giggs generation.

"It's been a long time coming but they're getting very close to the group I had - Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, David Beckham - that glorious group which we call the Class of '92," Harrison said.

heartwarming...

that is the Manchester United way.

Some people will say, the less he plays, the better he seems to get.

Of course the truth is somewhere in between but we can tell how highly he's regarded by those in the know. He does have one trait of Scholes. We visibly play better when he's in the team.
