Gaming Tom Clancy's - The Division | Division 2 announced

Ok this might be a stupid question, but when people talk about re-rolling to get better talents on their gun do they just mean they're crafting it again? Or are they re-calibrating it?

Crafting again. You can't recalibrate talents.

Someone made 100 vectors before coming across a combination they liked.

Ah thought as much.

Jesus that's a lot. I've got Responsive (deal more damage when closer than 10m to an enemy), Stable (stability improved by 46%), and Swift (reload 13% faster) on my first go which I'm pretty happy with.

Started this tonight

Not sure if I like it or not

Can I play with you guys at some stage? Or do I have to level up loads

Probably been asked loads before but does armour actually effect anything?

Sometimes I've had higher armour stats but they drop my HP a bit or similar, and I end up using the lower armour item. It must do something, guess it makes you more resistant to damage?

Yes, you can see it on the character page a fair bit down. My resilience is around 50% I think.

The game is pretty stupid in that if high level players play with low level players, the enemies levels are scaled up so you'd get absolutely destroyed.

Yeh armour is an important stat, gives resistance to bullets, but not grenades/fire/etc. Just around 350 armour can add 5% dmg resistance. Look it up in your character page under survivability.

Plans for today after i download that patch.

a) Buy up everything i can from vendors.
b) Go Rogue on everybody.

It works like Warframe in that armour provides a % damage mitigation.

Sounds like I'll have to start paying attention to that more. Up until now, all I've been looking at is whether or not it increased my health

Same here, will be interesting to see the trade off. Is more HP important or the higher damage resistance? I suppose once you get 25 / 50% resistance that'll outweigh a few hundred more HP

Finished the story last night, thought it was alright, a lot of the side missions become really repetitive after a while, IV got 2 of them left and a few of the small ones, so as to find the last 20 bits of Intel.

Started with Wedge last night collecting the Intels etc and finding it a bit of a grind after the 1st few areas. Still alot of side missions left and I think 1 final story mission that only opened last night

What do you get for collecting all phone recordings, agents, laptops etc? Anyone know?

Oh yea it's a massive grind, still nothing compared to the sword grind in destiny

This game is so much bloody fun when playing with a couple of mates online.

It really is designed for co-up, so if you're play with AI agents, then you're really not getting the full benefit, or anything close to it imo.

We have the missions set to hard, and they are HARD! Like borderline "I'm giving up, this is impossible" hard. This could be large part down to my level only being 9 (Now 10 after completing a mission last night)

One of the Security Wing missions took us about 2 hours to complete. The final boss (Joe something) and his minions were causing us serious bother. I'm shocked at how difficult the missions are so early on - think that was only like the 2nd Security Ward missions. But the level of difficulty means that you need to work together as a team, and put every single perk and ability you have to full use. Rarely you get a game like that in my experience. It's kind of like Watchdogs but you are required to use your gadgets and abilities rather than it being a fun little add-on.

Think I need to get my level up more from side mission and encounters before moving on to more missions.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

That must be Joe Ferro and the napalm mission, I tried to play it alone and a level or two under the required level as well.
It took me 4 hours and fecking Joe Ferro kept killing me at the end, it was impossible.

I leveled up and went in with some mates online and completed it in 15 minutes. The missions, in particular are really meant for co op play.

Level 22 now lads!

15 minutes?! For the whole mission? What level were you when you did that?

We realised that you don't actually have to kill all the other bad guys, just the boss. And then get thee feck out of there before the bitch burns down. By the time we eventually killed big Joe, we didn't give a feck about the loot, just wanted to get the hell out of there!

This was a week ago, I think i was at level 12 at the time but I may be wrong.
I recall this level better than most because I have never died so much in a game before, I started in the afternoon and was still playing when the sun was setting and I was still trying to kill goddamn Joe Ferro.

Eventually my gf called me off for dinner and I thought the game would save and I was shocked when I turned on my xbox and had to start all over from step 1. I said feck that and found a group of guys online and I am sure we got through it in around 15 minutes.

The key is getting a good group and which one of them has a healing station and you can massacre the enemies, even on the hard levels.

Cant wait to play on the challenge difficulty like Im sure Damien and some others are.

Once you get up to level 30 and have some good gear, you'll be blitzing through hard missions solo in 10-15 minutes and dying very rarely.

All 4 of us haven't moved from Lvl 12 but are Darkzone Lvl 15 now. The problem is the gear we are picking up we can't equip so we are now going back out and doing encounters and side missions to level up before hitting the lvl 14 mission then back in to the DZ.

I'm a nice guy generally, but this game is doing something to me. Last night we sat at the extraction point on top of DZ02 Multi-Storey (or 03) and called in choppers every few minutes. We would then take up position and ruin whoever ran out on to the top floor, loot them, extract and repeat. Having to empty the stash every 15minutes isn't great though.

Think we did that mainly to spice things up but as above, going back out to do normal missions for tonight at least!

What was the fuss about the bullet king? seemed to have missed that

It was basically The Division's version of Destiny's loot cave. He spawned right outside a safe house and you could kill him for the Phoenix Credit and purple drops, run back into the safe house, wait a few seconds and then repeat.

You're a bollock, I'm having to go through on solo now because you levelled too quick when I wasn't around

Yeah some stuff gets repetitive, I hate uplinks and the one where you defend 3 lots of supplies... Just... Ewww

There are a couple of exploits that people have leveraged. I only hope this doesn't cause the DZ to become a no-go area for anyone without the best gear. The people who have been able to exploit this glitch are so over-powered compared to those that haven't. With the changes to the DZ, I think it will make it hard to farm unless you are at the same level unfortunately.

Read a few comments from people that seem to back up my worry!

With the gear imbalance right now you 90% of the time meet people with far superior gear if you matchmake random.
Ive got plenty dps and gear but every1 in my group always do half or less...
As it is now pvp is pointless unless you do a premade with equally geared people.

gonna stop darkzone now...too many rogues...boring

Don't even want to finish leveling to 30. Feels like the devs gave everyone a massive advantage when you combine the love-fest that the DZ has been up to this point, and then the BK exploit. They end both of those things and turn the DZ into a real PvP area. How the hell are slower levelers ever going to compete once they hit 30 now that the game is functioning closer to as intended?

As I said in the thread yesterday, DZ tension, not out and out PvP carnage, was for me the unique element of this game. Now since you don't have to worry about going rogue, why not just go rogue at all times?

It's just pulse after pulse after pulse in the DZ, and it's garbage. Eventually got gunned down after only retrieving my one item that was stolen with 3 seconds left.

Hoping it plays better than that - will give it a go tonight or tomorrow.

Pretty valid concerns, tbf. It was always going to be tricky for massive to balance such a unique experience, as the DZ, but I hope they can get it right. There has to be some kind of risk and potential penalty for going rogue but, as has been seen in the last couple of weeks, there has to also be an incentive for people to do so.

I'm not one of the people who hugely exploited the BK thing and I am quite well geared up. I joined Makki & Duck's group the other day and they were doing it. I did about 20 minutes, so didn't see a huge benefit....but I have seen folks on my friends list at that same spot constantly for the last week.

We'll see how it plays out, as you say.

OK - am loving working through the game with @Big-Red @DatIrishFella and @Levo

BUT...

I would love to team up with this guy for a few missions

He's done a number of videos for other games too - his YouTube channel is well worth a watch!

I'm shocked considering how much of a stickler you are for not taking shortcuts! I didn't use it at all, though I hadn't been on over the past few days.

Last time I played, you disappeared for a pizza which took a few hours before going offline.
