Hmmm, the free DLC looks like it'll be enough to entertain me for the time being now in fairness.

Is it Tuesday yet?

The Division - Servers Opening Time
3 MARCH - [UBI] MIISTY
With the launch of The Division less than a week away, we thought it was a good time to update you on exactly when servers will go live.

The servers go live officially on March 8 at 00:01AM Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT)*.

Players who have purchased digital copies can begin preloading today for Xbox One, Thursday, March 3rd at 6pm CET / 9am PT for PC (Steam/Uplay) and March 6th at 00:01AM local time on PlayStation 4 -– except Japan where it will be available on March 8 at 00:01AM local time.

We can't wait for you to share these and other Division moments as you explore the streets and begin your journey to save New York City.

Thank you for your continued support.

So it is a case of servers go live at same time after all. I've just preloaded the game and I make that 7th March at 13:01 for the UK. Monday night here we come.

Of course, that's what I'm still talking about. One minute digital orders can play the game (read: servers up otherwise how can you play the game) at 00:01 March 8th local time. Now it's servers will be online 00:01 AEDT and nothing to do with 00:01 local time.
Servers were always going to be online at 00:01 AEDT. The 00:01 local time was refering to the "lock" there is on preloads until it allows you to open the game at 00:01 local time on consoles at least. No idea if Steam works same way.

Seems a bit pointless to announce what time the servers go live as some kind of big deal if you can't play at that time. Who would really care, as long as they were live when the game unlocked.

Servers are up globally at 00:01 AEDT. Games will unlock at 00:01 local time. Except PC. Games unlock at 06:01 CET.

Digital Copy Unlock Times:

-Playstation 4: March 8th – 00:01AM Local Time (00:01 EST for US/CA)
*(Japan will be available March 10th 00:001AM)

-Xbox One: March 8th – 00:01AM Local Time (00:01 EST for US/CA)

-PC (Steam and uPlay): March 8th – 6:01CET (00:01 EST for US/CA)

Physical copy holders can play as soon as they get the game, providing the servers are up.

Amazon better fecking deliver early, the cnuts!

I have Zarlak on my Uplay friends list, though not sure if I have Cina or Vato.

I do, however, have someone called FlashAhhhhhhhh....which is quite possibly the greatest gaming name I have ever seen.

I'll be holding off on getting the PC version until I see what the score is with cheating. If it's at a reasonable level, I'll definitely be getting it.

I'm not worried about the cheating aspect at all. They have stated the PC version is a version of the game designed specifically for the PC, it is not a console port. The developers are PC developers foremost, they arn't going to neglect PC issues.

If they let cheating become a big issue, their survival expansion for example (pure pvp one) dies before it's even released. This is a multiplayer game... there's just no chance they won't take steps to stop the cheats.

Undoubtedly there will still be some cheats, as with any pc game, but it'll be few and far between and if there's a problem in your deadzone you can easily switch instances by joining someone on your friends list or using matchmaking.

Yeah, that statement of mine went out of the window about five posts ago.

I just can't abide cheats. It really sours games for me. The guys I used to play Destiny with ( @afrocentricity @Damien @Anustart89 @freshibal ) will tell you. I used to complain about using cheesy 'minor exploits' in raids. Games are far too easy these days as it is, so why take some of the challenge away? I just don't get it.

From what I have read, a lot of stuff has been left client-side and this allows for the easy modification of files. Hopefully this is something that has been easy for the devs to tidy up in the last few weeks.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan (like the bridge exploits on CE especially on normal as they take too long for something that isn't that hard). Was fine with using it to get the Flawless Raider trophy though :p

I found this in a .txt file in the PC pre-download (Support>Readme>English)

EDIT: Also of note, there is a folder in the file system titled "Rogue" that existed in the Beta as well. Following the folder path Rogue>sdf_streaming>pc, I found a folder titled "nyc_brooklyn". This existed in the Beta as well, but appears to have significantly more content in the full game download specifically pointing to map generation (although not on the scale of the nyc_manhattan folder). I'm not sure what people have concluded on the Brooklyn front, but this may be more information.

I'm really not concerned about the cheating. We've seen a handful of examples in 6.4 million players. All weekend I didn't see a single cheater and I'm sure Ubi will be working on it post release too. You cannot prevent a game from having cheats, things like ESP for example you just cannot stop. You may as well say you're never going to buy a PC game again. Because of that, in my view it's not about whether cheaters exist but rather how much of an impact they have on my experience. If it's rampant, then yeah sure it's a pain in the arse but from the beta weekend it wasn't ever noticable. They seem pretty quick to fix bugs too.

There's three or four studios working on the game and we've seen in Beta they've been fast in fixing stuff, and looking at those notes they've fixed some of the concerns people have had.

Apologies if this has been covered already, but does this have a proper single player campaign? Not one where I'd have to play co-operatively to complete the story?

Actually, now I think about it, being able to give a squaddie back his gear that you just looted from his killer's corpse isn't such a bad thing. The idea of people just trading high-end loot to people that haven't 'earned it' is a bit crap, though.

It is level locked anyway.

Mmm....still takes a bit of the 'exclusivity' away from the folks that've earned it, imo.

Gjallarhorn in Destiny, for example. It made the game somewhat more interesting that not everyone had it.

I think the exclusivity factor isn't as important given that every gun has the potential to be wildly different from one another. Not all Green M4's are the same, some might be better than Blue's etc. It makes the character classes and what they value in a base weapon important, let alone additional attachments, so it'll be interesting in my view.

That's true. The fact that weapons and mods can have different traits means that weapons will be much more individual anyway. Good shout.

Also, it seems only the first two expansions have the 30-day exclusivity period on Xbone. The third expansion and the two free updates are out on all at same time I think.
