Titanic tourist submersible missing | Sub's debris found - crew "have been lost"

When you've just passed the point where you're almost certain there will be no survivors but some people believe you should continue searching at great cost it would be really handy if you could find some evidence you can put forward as proof it would be futile. good evening

I wish they would put the same effort into finding missing children.

In one of the videos shared the waiver was read out loud partially. You are signing that you are boarding a vessel that is not certified in any official way.
Is that even legal? Waivers don’t absolve companies from causing physical harm

This effort isn't entirely altruistic. They'll probably get to test military equipment and capabilities on this rescue mission.

You don't get the same benefit trying to find some kid who got lost in a Walmart in Kansas

Yeah but you have to sign a waiver when you have surgery so that kind of shit is mandatory for anything with the slightest bit of risk. But I mean surely the thing was certified to go to the depths they were going? It's like putting shelves up that have a weight capacity of 20kg then stacking 50kg on them and being surprised when they come crashing down.
Not in normal countries.

boe and the tories will be livid that the vapid will be focused more on them now.

May they rest in peace. I feel so sorry for the woman who's lost her husband and her boy.

This is what people should be thinking of

As a father I couldn’t imagine losing one of my boys and Wife in one hit

One of the concerns for search teams will be whether, if they find the submersible intact, the oyxgen reserves were sufficient to keep the missing crew alive.

Jamie Pringle, an expert in forensic geosciences at Keele University, in England, told AP that: “The lack of oxygen is key now; even if they find it, they still need to get to the surface and unbolt it.”

As per the Guardian.

Not sure how it works in the US (or is it Canada in this case?), but in the UK you cannot waive your right to a personal injury claim and companies cannot exclude liability for injury or death caused as a result of their negligence. The waivers most of us have signed prior to going white water rafting or paintballing etc don't hold much legal weight (the companies in question probably hope it will put you off suing them).

Holy shit, that's insane. So why would you get in it then? It's fecking stupid in fact.

Not everything people do has to be certified by someone else...

Are the guys jumping off cliffs in homemade wingsuits doing so with certified gear? Some people are just happy to take the risk. Worst case scenario, you're dead.

Not my way of living, but for people who have no risks worth taking in their lives anymore I get it.

I guess it's better than the alternative death they could have faced.
Yes, in the circumstances the discovery of debris is actually “good news” as it indicates they probably had a very quick death rather than the ticking nightmare that we’d imagined. Rest in peace guys.

Could the crew have kicked at the viewport or any of the comparatively weaker sections to make sure that they were gone before they realized instead of the long drawn out battle for oxygen etc?

Absolutely no chance of that being remotely possible.

Nope - that would be physically impossible

Ah, RIP to all. If they had to die down there, at least it was a quick death.

Presume the point at which it lost contact (roughly 3500m into the dive) was the point something gave and the sub exploded?
