Thomas Tuchel | Gone to & from Bayern (In Summer)

:wenger: so after 6 games with Chelsea being 1 point above Liverpool that to you means that Tuchel is a better manager than Klopp? Is this the way you judge stuff generally?
You are so lost in the flow of the posts.

I'm genuinely quite worried about this, I just hope that Chelsea's owners are happy to give Tuchel a bit of time to get his team to gel after a massive and disjointed transfer window.
Feck I've never had a post age so badly so quickly!

Not that surprising. Said before things have started to unravel since the Russia situation and he's had a few big meetings with the squad since but each time it's fizzled out quickly regarding results.

They've spent a lot and don't want it to go to waste so they'll get another manager in with a clean slate to invigorate the squad. Hopefully it won't go well for our sake but under Roman they'd always bounce back quick.

Bizarre turn of events. Everything since Chelsea's takeover has just been weird. Whether it be their flat performances last season, their huge but uninspiring summer business and now this. Then again Tuchel was always known to be difficult to work with even at Dortmund so it's not a huge surprise. Hopefully the owners replace him with someone worse.

About 0.0% chance they fire the coach who brought them back into the top 4 and won them the championship league, 6 weeks into the new season after spending a gazillion pounds on players, who haven't even all started a single game yet

Maybe the chance was more than 0.0%

People say this but it would be a massive pay rise and a chance to manage a top 4 club. Yeah there's greater risk of getting the sack there but it might be a once in a lifetime opportunity for him. I think he'd be a fool not to take it if offered.
I think he knows he won't be short of suitors if he just chills though, and Chelsea look unstable as feck at the moment. Can see Liverpool going for him when Klopp leaves.

I think they go for Pochettino.

Potter would be a better fit though.
I'm not sure Potter would take it, he turned down Spurs becuae apparently he didnt like the set up, he's always said his teams thrives in a settled environment, that's not Chelsea.

It'll be hilarious if it was Poch. Dude goes from too many attackers to too many defenders.

That was fast.

But lets face it, he fluked that CL win (just like their other one) and has been living off that success.

He has been dogshit in the league, despite spending insane amounts of money on mostly duds.

Welcome to american ownership though. No long term planning. Just splurged a shiteload on a bunch of average/below average defenders.

No real strategy or discernable playing style moving forwards.

Is he really gone? Didn't see that happening so quickly
Yep. Confirmed by the club. Apparently they’ve been considering it for a while.

Sky reporting that the owners weren’t convinced with discussions with tuchel after games when it came to identifying where the problems lied. I think there’s clearly been a breakdown in communications.

If they are able to appoint Potter, sure there might be some turbulence in the early days but in the long term they'll be much better off.

Tuchel is a trainwreck and his implosion was inevitable.

Yeah every single game will be scrutinized if he goes to Chelsea. Rangnick and EtH both had to become pragmatists to get some results instead of sticklers to their philosophies because of the amount of shit they got.

Potter will be good if they appoint and keep him around for the long term, but given it's Chelsea it's impossible for any manager to last longer than 2-3 years.

The timing is ridiculous though isn’t it

Everyone will laugh at them and call them a circus but you just know they'll end up somehow having a successful season now having gotten rid off Tuchel before things got worse.

Under Roman they had a weird Midas touch for appointing managers who’d instantly get them back competing (and then sack then the following season!)…. difficult to know whether Boehly has this. The apparent chasing of Ronaldo and their haphazard transfer window might imply he’s a bit Glazerish, with a splash of Gary Cook when it comes to football knowledge… we can only hope!

Whatever you wanna say about Roman, he knew his football onions

I think that may be wishful thinking understandably as a Brighton fan.

I think the concern with spurs would always be would the owner give him any money to build the team.

At Chelsea it’s clear any manager will have plenty to spend. I think Potter will snap their hand off for the chelsea job. I don’t think he’ll hesitate.

Personally I think they already know who the next manager is. They wouldn’t have acted this swiftly if they didn’t.

The meltdown if they bring in Jesse Marsch would be a fun watch. American owners bringing in an american manager. Todd Lasso.

One benefit with both Potter and Pochettino is their comfortability in working with the 3-5-2 formation that Chelsea's squad seems to be configured to.

Damn. Meet the new owner, same as the old owner. Not that it didn’t work for Abramovich.

Potter should wait though, I think he's a good candidate to replace Guardiola personally, and everything suits him better up there.
